And if things get really tough in the polls we'll hear that it was Bill and Hilllary who came up with the plan. Of ourse, if the polls are favorable they'll save that one for McCain.

RUSH: I find something very interesting. We've had two calls today, and I am certain we will get more, from people who say that they don't hear anything wrong with what we have played from the sermons of the pastor of Obama's church in Chicago, Jeremiah Wright. Let's listen to this one again. This is a sermon from 2001 shortly after the 9/11 attacks.
WRIGHT: We bombed Hiroshima, we bombed Nagasaki, and we nuked far more than the thousands in New York and the Pentagon, and we never batted an eye. We have supported state terrorism against the Palestinians and black South Africans, and now we are indignant because the stuff we have done overseas is now brought right back into our own front yards. America's chickens are coming home to roost.
RUSH: Okay. Now, let's examine this within the context of modern-day politics. We've had people call and they don't hear anything wrong with what the pastor is saying. Ladies and gentlemen, what is the thrust of the Obama foreign policy as stated to date? See, I think because of the way Senator Obama's responding to this bunch of video and audio of his pastor that's out there, gives us an indication what his foreign policy is. What we just heard from Jeremiah Wright is pretty close to what today's Democrat Party believes. All through the past five years during the war in Iraq, what have we heard from various Democrats? That our reputation in the world's gone south, our reputation's horrible, this kind of stuff we've brought on ourself. We deserve this. We gotta go around and we gotta talk, we gotta get a new president, we gotta talk to these people around the world and let them know that we're not the bad apples that they think we are. We've just got one rotten guy, that's Bush -- well, two, and Cheney.
All Obama would have had to say, if somebody asked him specifically about this comment from his pastor, all Obama would have had to say is, "Well, that's why I want to be president, because there are more Americans who think this than is healthy. I want to be president so I can straighten this out. It's not healthy for as many Americans to think this as do." Speaking of nukes, he could knock it out of the ballpark with that. He wouldn't endorse it. He would say, "I'm sad to hear this. I'm sad to know so many Americans think this is true. That's why I want to be president." But instead, what does he do? He goes into one of these answers as though Mrs. Clinton's got his testicles in a lockbox, he starts pussyfooting around, doesn't say anything, which, as a voter and as an American, makes me think, makes me ask, "Perhaps Obama agrees with the guy on this, too." Maybe Obama does think that we are the evil in the world. Maybe he believes that the United States is the problem and not the solution. Maybe he agrees with this pastor. That's why I want to know from Senator Obama, don't tell us what you don't agree with that your pastor has said. Please tell us what you like that he has said. It would be very easy to do, would it not? Just tell us what he said that you agree with.
Wall Street Journal today, Ronald Kessler: "'Obama and the Minister.' -- In a sermon delivered at Howard University, Barack Obama's longtime minister, friend and adviser blamed America for starting the AIDS virus, training professional killers, importing drugs and creating a racist society that would never elect a black candidate president. The Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr., pastor of Mr. Obama's Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago, gave the sermon at the school's Andrew Rankin Memorial Chapel in Washington on Jan. 15, 2006. 'We've got more black men in prison than there are in college,' he began. 'Racism is alive and well. Racism is how this country was founded and how this country is still run. No black man will ever be considered for president, no matter how hard you run Jesse [Jackson] and no black woman can ever be considered for anything outside what she can give with her body.'" That's two years ago. "Mr. Wright thundered on: 'America is still the No. 1 killer in the world. ... We are deeply involved in the importing of drugs, the exporting of guns, and the training of professional killers ... We bombed Cambodia, Iraq and Nicaragua, killing women and children while trying to get public opinion turned against Castro and Ghadhafi ... We put [Nelson] Mandela in prison and supported apartheid the whole 27 years he was there. We believe in white supremacy and black inferiority and believe it more than we believe in God.' His voice rising, Mr. Wright said, 'We supported Zionism shamelessly while ignoring the Palestinians and branding anybody who spoke out against it as being anti-Semitic. ... We care nothing about human life if the end justifies the means...' Concluding, Mr. Wright said: 'We started the AIDS virus ... We are only able to maintain our level of living by making sure that Third World people live in grinding poverty...'
All right. You can chalk it up to the black experience, but what he's doing when he makes these hate-filled, racist remarks is literally dispiriting and destroying the opportunity for anybody who hears him and believes him to become a full-fledged participating American. He's creating and sustaining, like so much of the race business does in this country, so much in the civil rights movement does, a second-class population with just enough money to give to the church, but not enough money to be independent from some sort of government assistance, which equals a vote for a Democrat. Started the AIDS virus -- "But, Rush, that's what they believe, you gotta deal with it." That's what Obama should say. Obama should come out and say, "Well, too many people believe this. I agree that it's a problem. That's why I want to be president, because it's unhealthy for this many Americans," but I'm not sure he thinks that. I'm not sure, based on this guy going to this church for 20 years and listening to this pastor, I'm not sure that this candidate doesn't disagree, because it would be so easy to deal with this and be done with it, but he's not doing that.
You want to hear a bit of irony? I bet you haven't heard this. It's a Reuters story from the Times Online in the UK. Headline: "'John McCain Told to Dump Spiritual Guide in Row Over "War" on Islam.' -- John McCain, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, has been called upon to renounce a church leader he considers his spiritual guide for urging a Christian war to destroy the 'false religion' of Islam. A number of prominent US weblogs demanded he reject the support of Reverend Rod Parsley, of the World Harvest Church of Columbus, an influential televangelist and political figure who campaigned alongside him in the run up to the Ohio primary. On February 26, a week before the Ohio vote, Mr McCain appeared at a campaign rally in Cincinnati with the evangelical pastor, who praised the candidate as a 'strong, true, consistent conservative'. With Mike Huckabee, a Baptist preacher, then continuing to snap at his heels, Mr Parsley's endorsement was a boon to Mr McCain's efforts to knock out his last remaining challenger and win over social conservatives. Standing side-by-side with the minister, Mr McCain hailed him as a 'spiritual guide.'"
Okay, so McCain's got an evangelical Christian who is a spiritual guide, and apparently -- I've never heard this -- but this preacher urges Christian war to destroy the false religion of Islam. And now everybody, "You've got to get rid of this guy! You've gotta denounce this and you've gotta get rid of this guy." Double standard, anyone? BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: I appreciate that.
CALLER: Is it okay for me to make one comment, before the original reason I called?

CALLER: I was just going to say that as a church-going person that I would never allow someone to be my spiritual advisor unless I agreed with their integrity and their view of the world and that we shared the same views and moral character and I was in agreement with them. I could never let someone advise me...

RUSH: That's the scary thing. I've got a story here from the Chicago Tribune, from January 21st of 2007, like 15 months ago. "Barack Obama visited the church in 1985 as a community activist. He was not a churchgoer at the time, but he found himself returning to the sanctuary of Trinity United. In Jeremiah Wright, he found both a spiritual mentor and role model."
CALLER: Yes. For whatever he says about his disagreements, I don't believe it. It's insincere, and it's just not believable to me. So, I think he could be (garbled).
RUSH: That's a good point. You're not going to have to somebody as a spiritual advisor that you don't agree with.
CALLER: I don't know how you could do that. And then the other reason I called is just having been in churches and having pastored with my husband, as a 501(c)(3), you are not allowed from the pulpit to make any kind of political statement.
RUSH: Yeah, but they're looking into the guy. They're looking into his church, the IRS.
CALLER: Oh, good.
RUSH: But, you know, this has been looked at and winked at for I don't know how many years. How many times have Democrats gone into the church -- Clinton did it -- and raised money in there, during --
CALLER: Well, that's true.
RUSH: -- election season.
CALLER: Yeah, that's true. They're allowed to do that as long as they give equal time to the other side. You're allowed to. As long as you're giving equal time to both sides, you're supposed to be allowed to do that, but you can't just give one person or one leaning. I mean, lean towards one direction.
RUSH: I don't know if the other side's been allowed in the Trinity United Church of Christ, I don't know.
CALLER: I don't, either.
RUSH: I don't know.
CALLER: I just found it interesting.

CALLER: A lot of liberals won't bring this up, that Malcolm X (also Malcolm Little) said the very exact same thing as an open black separatist, before he made his pilgrimage to Mecca, and that caused his breakaway from the Nation of Islam, which inevitably led to his demise. So to have one with that type of radical mentality as an advisor, you know? I just don't know how people can say that they're advocating the love of Christ, but openly speaking about hate. RUSH: Yeah, I know. You know, we've had people call here today, they said, "Well, you just don't understand the black church, the context and experience." Well, that may be true, but you nailed it. I don't care. Preaching hate doesn't do anybody any good, any time. And you're right. I think there is an attempt here. This guy's clearly advocating separatism. This guy does not want any in his congregation to like white people, at all. He wants them to walk out of there hating white people. Now, you tell me how that's productive for anybody, particularly the country. And you tell me how in the world that comes from the Bible or from Christianity or any other religion, for that matter, but this guy is clearly advocating hatred and perhaps separatism. And, you know, Dr. King was all just the opposite. Dr. King was all about integration. You know, Brown vs. Board of Education was all about integration. Now it seems that so many of these civil rights leaders, be they pastors or what have you, are interested in separatism again, segregation. Even when integration laws allow the discrimination of the past to be forgotten and the college admissions or other clubs, they get inside and still have advocates and leaders suggesting that they segregate once they integrate.
This is why if you're a human being -- if you have any humanity about you at all, and if you have any appreciation for the greatness of this country -- the idea that you would rather have your flock or the people who are under your spell constantly poor, angry, filled with hatred and rage... I don't see the humanity in that. I just don't see it basic humanity in what Pastor Wright happens to be preaching. We've all got things that made us mad over our life. We've all had things that were unfair, every damn one of us. I know, "But, Rush, it happened because the skin color." I understand that. Progress is being made and has been made, lots of it. But despite that, everybody has some kind of an obstacle, and lots of them are unfair, and there are lots of people who face all kinds of discrimination on the basis of some other physical characteristic that they might have, not just the color of their skin. But there aren't whole industries that have been set up to establish -- for example, there is no civil rights group for the fat. There is no civil rights group for one-armed amputees living in SoHo in New York City.

I'm saying the institution was. It's not. By the way, did I not predict this? We've got the first legitimate black man running for president of the United States, and look what's happening in this party? Look at what's happening in the Democrat Party. We have a race war! You can call it a civil war or call it an Uncivil War, but we've got a race war going on in the Democrat Party while the first legitimate candidate for president as a black man is leading their pack. What does that tell you? I know there are a lot of people who believe that if Obama gets the nomination and then is elected president, that we can forever banish our racist past, our original sin of racism and slavery. "Banish it! It will be over. We will have crossed the divide! We shall have reached the mountaintop. We shall have crossed the threshold," and I tell you, my friends, it's only going to get worse. Look at what happened to Geraldine Ferraro. Look at what happens to anybody out there, especially on the Democrat side right now, starts to criticize Obama, they point fingers and say, "Racist!" It's only going to get worse. Let's just go down the road. Say this guy gets elected president, State of the Union speech. Republicans do their response. Let's say they choose a white guy to do the response to Obama's State of the Union. The next day, Sharpton and Jackson go into gear, the Justice Brothers, and claim the criticism is based in race; rooted in Republican anger that Obama won and that that response just was a telegraph to the rest of the Republicans to get rid of this guy as quickly as we can in the next election. Whether it's true or not, they will say it. It's going to be made to order for those in the civil rights race prop-'em-up business. END TRANSCRIPT

This man's entire world-view is troubling. But it makes no sense to say that our standard of living is in any way dependent upon grinding poverty in the third world.
Our standard of living is dependent upon us providing the world goods and services and them having the money to PURCHASE those goods and services.
The grinding poverty nations do little for our bottom line and it is in our own long term interests to get them stable, democratic, and with robust economies with citizens who can PLEASE purchase our goods and services, hire U.S. workers, make attractive vacation destinations, and export whatever they have as a clean and safe product.
Until them we sell them guns, because killing each other is all they seem interested in and all they can afford.
Unfortunately the black population (same % who think OJ is innocent and vote for Obama - 80%)hate whites and every evil, every failure, every black death, every black crime, every poor black person in the world, all diseases, and every thing bad is the result of whites. From the mayor in Detroit to Oprah - blacks cant get ahead because the white man is always puttin em down.
The really sad thing is if you ask the average white person why blacks cant succeed, a majority will also blame racism from whites - eventhough there is an ounce of evidence to suport it. The only overt and promoted racism is black on white. Even the NC student body president was killed by blacks but no one wants to inquire why?
Only when white America turns a deaf ear to black America whining will there be honest reflection in the black community for the problems that they have created. I dont believe it will happen in our time, blacks are filled with rage and hate fostered by the powerful influences of the white liberal elites.

I don’t think a single red state from 2004 will be in play. In addition to the blue states you list, MN, WI, and possibly MI/PA will turn red.
Things for Obama (or Hillary) are going to get much worse between now and November and there will be a large numbers of moderate dems that will jump onto the McCain train for the general. I’ve never believed that this would be close with McCain as the nominee (even though he is not my favorite candidate).

Ohio has some serious problems for the Republican party right now.
Whether or not John McCain will suffer for it remains to be seen.
McCain campaigned in (against) Iowa on ending farm subsidies.
He knew he wasn’t going to win Iowa, so he took the opportunity to give some “straight talk” instead.
Iowa is already marginal. It’s the most dovish state in the nation. And it survives on farm subsidies. In 2000 McCain campaigned against ethanol. Unfortunately he has somewhat moderated that position since then. But in general, McCain has been on the opposite side of the issues most important to Iowans. That might not be enough to lose to someone like Obama or Hillary, but it will certainly work against him.
Why couldn’t Rush have waited until after the Convention to unleash this stuff? We are giving Hillary one last chance at the nomination with this. It is too damn soon to reveal this poison.
They don't. That's their problem, the moonbats pick their nominee. This guy is just more open and blunt about what they think - he doesn't disguise or sugar coat anything. The reason they are panicking now is they know this crap doesn't play to ordinary Americans and there aren't nearly enough moonbats to elect a President.
