Ted Kennedy has called Nantucket Sound near his Massachusetts estate a national treasure but that didnt stop the senator from having oil dumped from his yacht into its waters.
A local photographer spotted an oil slick coming from Kennedys yacht Mya as Kennedy and his guests left the vessel in a launch following a race that ended in Hyannis, the Cape Cod Today newspaper reported.
The lensman was so shocked that he rowed his dinghy out to question the crew member left aboard the yacht.
He asked the crewman, What the hell are you doing?
The crewman said that diesel fuel had gotten into the bilge and he was told to dump it.
When the photographer pointed out that the yacht was moored in coastal waters near shellfish beds and people swimming, the crewman replied, Whatever.
Cape Cod Today published a photo showing the oil slick emanating from Mya.
As Newsmax reported earlier, Kennedy has opposed a proposal to construct a wind farm in Nantucket Sound to produce cheap, clean energy. Asked why, he said: Thats where I sail.
I do believe that's a crime. Waddaya bet nothing's done about it -- or that it even gets a mention in the la,e stream press.
No takers on your bet, TG.
The oil slick could have ended up as a "marker" off Chappaquidick. /s
The rotund, alcoholic, "Swimmer," away with murder, he did.
I read the comments in the link above and someone posted he couldn’t wait for Dick Gabbetts book to come out.
Anyone know anything about that?
Here’s another that’s long-over due for prosecution, conviction and jail time. His sins are too numerous too mention which ranges from murder to polluting the environment and everything else in between.
Yeah, ethanol! He probably dumps a gallon in there every day.
bwahahahahahahahahahahahaha! I'm funny!!!
correction,,Dick Garbetts. I don’t get anything on google about him.
Didn't know you needed diesel to sail.
“When the photographer pointed out that the yacht was moored in coastal waters near shellfish beds and people swimming, the crewman replied, Whatever, DO YOU KNOW WHO’S BOAT THIS IS?
There, fixed it.
Exactly. I’m not saying Kennedy’s not scum, but why is it suddenly news 6 years later?
“Must be nice to be royalty. “
In Massachusetts anyway.
Being a Kennedy there is like being a Windsor in England.
The only difference is the Windsors have more class (and knowing the Windsors that is a compliment to neither family!!)
Sorry. This is the 1st I've heard of it.

Please explain.
????????
This story came out in 2002, why is it making the rounds again? If it is just to remind everyone what a turd Ted is, that’s cool, but a follow up story would be best.
Rules, don’t apply to royalty, they make the rules.
Ha! Maybe the U-Boat Commander of Chappaquidick was attempting that old submariners trick of releasing fuel to trick his adversary into thinking that they had sunk him. ;-)
Mary Jo Kopechne was unavailable for comment.

And to think he could have offered it to some of the folks he’s giving Chavez’s oil to to keep them warm during the winter.
It is. Too bad the photographer didn't call the Coast Guard then hang around and get some photographs of them investigating the spill.
I can tell you that in my area they are serious about these regulations and write up boaters for oil spills and sewage/trash going overboard, intentional or accidental, it makes no difference.
Federal Requirements and Safety Tips for Recreational Boats
Pollution Regulations
The Refuse Act of 1899 prohibits throwing, discharging or depositing any refuse matter of any kind (including trash, garbage, oil, and other liquid pollutants) into the waters of the United States.
The Federal Water Pollution Control Act prohibits the discharge of oil or hazardous substances which may be harmful into U.S. navigable waters.
Vessels 26 feet in length and over must display a placard at least 5 by 8 inches, made of durable material, fixed in a conspicuous place in the machinery spaces, or at the bilge pump control station, stating the following:
Discharge of Oil Prohibited
The Federal Water Pollution Control Act prohibits the discharge of oil or oily waste upon or into any navigable waters of the U.S.
The prohibition includes any discharge which causes a film or discoloration of the surface of the water or causes a sludge or emulsion beneath the surface of the water.
Violators are subject to substantial civil and/or criminal sanctions including fines and imprisonment.
Regulations issued under the Federal Water Pollution Control Act require all vessels with propulsion machinery to have a capacity to retain oily mixtures on board and be equipped with a fixed or portable means to discharge these oily mixtures to a reception facility. On recreational vessels, a bucket, oil absorbent pads and heavy duty plastic bag, bailer or portable pump are some suitable means that meet the requirement for retention on board until transfering the oily mixture to a reception facility.
No person may intentionally drain oil or oily waste from any source into the bilge of any vessel.
You must immediately notify the U.S. Coast Guard if your vessel discharges oil or hazardous substances in the water.

Even pigs have more class than Kennedy!
Kennedy - what a creep. Talk about your pompous, the-rules-don’t-apply-to-me attitude.
From the book called, I believe, simplyChappaquiddick...
When Teddy tried to get his cousin-lawyer to take the fall for killing Mary Jo, the cousin told him,
"Even Kennedys don't sh*t in their own back yard."
Teddy did then, and he does now.
(I haven't read it in years, so I may be off on the exact quote; but I remember the sentiment!)
I don’t know what the big deal is. The man is a Kennedy, after all.
I just had lunch and now my stomach, it don't feel so good.lol
Of course on the upside, it does give me a little more incentive to start on that New Year's resolution to lose a few pounds.
What a tub of lard!!!!
Get a grip, folks. Do you really think a man who’ll drown a girl in his Oldsmobile by dumping it into the water is going to worry about dumping diesel fuel into Nantucket Sound?
Hmmm...
What about ditching a running 1967 Oldsmobile 88 in a navigable waterway?
.
Teddy like Al Gore is an environmental hypocrite. Kennedy is quick to lecture the rest us about giving up our way of life to “save the planet” and yet not only dumps his hazardous waste into the environment, but lives in an energy hog mansion, flies private jets and owns a yacht. If any of the rest oof us so much as peed in the waters of Nantucket Sound we would be fined.
typical a-hole lib/dem....do as I say etc....
fat ted should have been dumped instead of the oil....except unlike mary jo...this orca would swim!!!!
Instead of taring and feathering Teddy, I’ll settle for dunking him in his oily bilge water and then feathering him.
It needs to go on Rush’s stack of stuff for Monday. He’ll prbably have a parody song made about it. Maybe he could use “Orinoco Flow (sail away, sail away)” by Enia as the donor song.
An drunken accident. Today, you’d get eight years in prison.
