With the continuing questions regarding Barack Obama and the Rev. Wright/Tony Rezko allegations that seemingly put a damper on his otherwise brilliant run for the Democratic Party nomination, the Senator from Illinois sought to alleviate any anxiety by his followers by issuing the following statement:
Without going into specifics, Hope and Change continue to be the standard for my campaign. I now realize that continuing to follow the teachings of Rev. Wright for 20 years and allowing myself to be caught up in anti-white, anti-American sermons taken completely out of context can be misconstrued by the general populace to be a huge lapse of judgment. To some degree it is. I want to reinforce to my white supporters, without patronizing their race, that although I disavow some of what the Reverend said, I still hold dear the teachings and standards of United Trinity as a good Christian man should.
Regarding Tony Rezko, yes, it appears my campaign and staffers, unbeknownst to me, accepted contributions far and away greater than I was aware. We have attempted to return those excess funds but Mr. Rezko has been tied up lately with minor legal matters and were unable to successfully make the return at this time. They have been safely buried, I suppose transferred to escrow is a better term, for return at a future date. Again, the view the general populace has is that this is a minor lapse of judgment and we don't fault them for misguided thinking.
Look, all people have lapses in judgment, some to a greater degree than others. I can assure you, however, my judgment has significantly improved and will be impeccable going forward. I look forward to sitting down with the Honorable Presidents Achmadinijad, Chavez, Castro and the freedom fighters in Iraq and Afghanistan, to discuss my visions of Hope and Change for the future, to have fruitful discussions about the future, and to ensure peace in our time.

The more he tries to handle this by simply saying ‘lapses’ or ‘did not know’, the more he will be on trouble. He should leave the church. Carter left his church when he realized that he’s a pro-abortion in a pro-life church.
dont forget his wife’s 200 some thousand dollar pay raise days before the hospital where she worked got 1 million from an obama earmark...
Sounds like that anti-white, anti-American rhetoric is MOST of what the anti-Reverend said.
By using terms like "anti-white", Obama has just legitimized them as part of the debate - and as labels for himself.
The new slogan, in Barack's own words:
Obama: Anti-White
Hillary has her hand in putting Wright out there. No one can tell me any different. This guy has been Obama’s pastor for 20 years and all this stuff comes out now?
Clinton INC. will take Obama out. he will be a mere shell when they get done with him. Even better for Hillary is she gets to blame it on the Republicans.
Please tell me this is satire.
It goes to how prepared he is to be President. Which goes to what Clinton has been saying about his qualifications. Which goes to the impression her camp's behind some, if not most, of this.
Sums up nicely Hussein's idea: just hope for change and change the hope, "specifics" be damned - we wouldn't want to clear the fog and ruin the illusions, now would we?"
What Cunningham said, about peeling the bark off of BHO.
Obama’s going to be shucked!
He never does.
ok, it’s satire..but based on past actions/words, it’s entirely believable..
My thoughts exactly. Honorable Presidents?
What more need be said?
However, I will add my own thoughts to the guilt ridden whites who will vote for BO. You think that by voting a man into the White House because he is black will cure the nation of all the supposed racial strife, you are sadly mistaken. It will only become worse.
I may get into trouble for saying that (very un-pc), but someone had to say it, and I detest the current PC movement.
It is, but sleepyheads are not catching on.
“I disavow some of what the reverend said”, Really, and what did you agree with, and most of all what did you wife agree with? Seems like all of what the rev sez has to do with denouncing and blaming white America. One step forward two steps back!
Well Mr. BHO, I did not have any lapse in judgement, Had you pegged from the start.
When I would hear you speak at your rallys, I would tell hubby, “I feel he is only talking to blacks.”
Did anyone else get that feeling?
“Please tell me this is satire.”
Maybe the part of the headline that says [Humor] might help.
Oh, that thing.
Ain’t funny when it’s basically a faithful rewording of what’s really being said. Obama _is_ suddenly distancing himself from an anti-white anti-American maniac which he has been following for decades. He _is_ making up vague excuses for doing so.
I don’t see what’s funny, other than Obama being Obama.
ask b. HUSSEIN why his rev-run can use the N word and not be a racist but if a white person quotes the rev-run...the white person is racist???
Hi—it is satire. Look at the tag words.
“taken out of context”? What crap. Those videos show entire passages from his sermons. They’re not isolated sentences or phrases. They are complete, and completely inexcusable. End of the road for BHO when it comes to middle America and the nation’s heartland. Berkely and NYC may tolerate America-bashing. They may even extoll it as a sign of sophistication. The rest of the country thinks the pastor is dead wrong.
A 20 year minute gap.......or
I have no recollection of.......
It’s no lapse in judgement. Obama hung out with the hate-Whitey poor me crowd. He was outed. Now he’s trying to save his campaign.
Hillary is looking better. Not much better, but better.
