Subject:? Why aren't we told this?

How Could? We Know? I didn't know! You didn't know! How could we? know?

Did you know? that 47 countries' have reestablished their embassies? in Iraq? ?

Did you? know that the Iraqi government currently employs 1.2 million Iraqi? people ?

Did you? know that 3100 schools have been renovated, 364 schools are under? rehabilitation, 263 new schools are now under construction and 38 new? schools have been completed in Iraq? ?

Did you? know that Iraq 's higher educational? structure consists of 20 Universities, 46 Institutes or colleges and? 4 research centers, all currently? operating?

Did you? know that 25 Iraq? students departed for the United State s in January 2005 for the? re-established Fulbright program ?

Did you know? that the Iraqi Navy is operational ? They have 5 - 100-foot patrol? craft, 34 smaller vessels and a naval infantry? regiment.

Did you? know that Iraq 's Air Force consists of? three operational squadrons, which includes 9 reconnaissance and 3? US C-130 transport aircraft (under Iraqi operational control)? which operate day and night, and will soon add 16 UH-1 helicopters? and 4 Bell Jet Rangers ?

Did you know? that Iraq has a counter-terrorist? unit and a Commando Battalion?

Did you? know that the Iraqi Police Service has over 55,000 fully trained and? equipped police officers?

Did you? know that there are 5 Police Academies in Iraq? that produce over 3500 new officers each 8? weeks?

Did you? know there are more than 1100 building projects going on? in Iraq ? They include 364? schools, 67 public clinics, 15 hospitals, 83 railroad stations, 22? oil facilities, 93 water facilities and 69 electrical facilities.

Did you? know that 96% of Iraqi children under the age of 5 have received the ?first 2 series of polio vaccinations?

Did you? know that 4.3 million Iraqi children were enrolled in primary school by? mid October?

Did you? know that there are 1,192,000 cell phone subscribers in? Iraq and phone use has gone? up 158% ?

Did you? know that Iraq has an independent media? that consists of 75 radio stations, 180 newspapers and 10 television? stations?

Did you? know that the Baghdad Stock Exchange opened in June of? 2004?

Did you? know that 2 candidates in the Iraqi presidential election had a televised debate recently? OF COURSE WE DIDN'T KNOW! WHY DIDN'T WE? KNOW? YOUR NEWS MEDIA REFUSES TO TELL US! Instead of reflecting our? love for our country, we get photos of flag burning incidents at Abu? Ghraib and people throwing snowballs at the presidential motorcades.? Tragically, the lack of accentuating the positive in Iraq? serves three two major purposes of the liberal news? media:

1.? It is intended to undermine the world's perception of the? United States thus? minimizing consequent? ? support,? and:

2.? It is intended to discourage American citizens and erode their support for the war.

3.? It is intended to help the Democratic Party gain more power in the next elections.

---- All? the above facts are verifiable on the Department of Defense web site." _http://www.defenselink.mil/_ (http://www.defenselink.mil/)

Pass it? on! Give it wide? dissemination.

Why aren't the positives ever spoken about?

Because actually it took several reorganizations and changes in military leadership before there were real positives of this kind. Counterinsurgency is much more than killing bad guys. It is creating the circumstances where the local community sees their lives as being substantially better because you are there; it is making sure that you don't create new bad guys faster than you kill off the old ones, and if you are really good, bad guys begin to realize that their lives will be a lot better if they cooperate and they become good guys.

We had to get the neocon politicals out and get genuine professionals in before this could happen. It is embarassing that Republicans were as bad as democrats are. Political loyalty and working on a compaign are no subsitute for knowing what you are doing.

Because our lazy President (whom I voted for twice) is both incapable of articulating this to the American people through the media headwind (though other Presidents have been able to get their message out he is too incompetent at putting words together), and too complacent to hire someone who can!

Drives you crazy doesn't it

You got that right.

This Administration has been totally incompetent in fighting the PR war against the media. He should have been pounding details like this list from DAY 1.

Naked stupidity... and it comes from the fact that this administration is totally out of touch with the average American. Congress is as well.

You’re right!

It’s Allegra’s fault.

Thanks Allegra!

Thank you for posting these facts.

Can you explain why our President has not enumerated these gains in talking to the American people? President Reagan would have done so.

The treasonous MSM and Demagogues want us to LOSE Iraq to terrorists, suffer far more terrorist attacks, and watch international jihad grow again..... all so that our treasonous scumbags can “take back this country” as they like to put it. From the New Deal onward the ‘Rats felt they rightly dominated this country’s politics and media culture. They are enraged that some of their “progress” toward universal socialism is occasionally checked.

Actually, this is one case where it actually is Bush’s fault. His failure to lead the PR war has hamstrung his administration every step of the way.

Hey if all of the bad stuff W's fault why can't the good stuff be Allegra's "fault".

LOL - works for me.

Actually, this report is from late '05 or early '06.

Most of these numbers are way up now. Of particular note, the police academies and the number of police being generated increased significantly last year alone. Construction projects are spiraling up and government employees in one ministry alone increased by 300,000 personnel (nationwide) just in 2007.

This country is on the MOVE. It's booming, if you will pardon the very, very bad pun. ;-)

That’s great and I hope and expect that Iraq’s oil revenues are paying for most of this.

There was probably an unknown font character in a previous copy of that report that someone's browser or text editor just changed to a "?". Copying and pasting it later just brought the "?" into the message and now it appears that the author punctuated it that way. Unicode converted to ASCII, etc. like the little square boxes that seem to replace " sometimes.

Cheers

Rick...thanks for posting.

It is incredibly sad, pathetic really, that on the rare occasions I come to FR these days, every thread becomes a "Bash Bush" session by the likes of posts like yours. 10 out of 50 posts made for the sole purpose of further denigrating our President. It has gone beyond old and tiresome. Give it up! He will be gone in 10 months. Then who you going to bitch about?

There has always been good news coming out of Iraq. Instead of helping get that news out, many here have assisted the treasonous cretins in CONgress and the Enemedia in demolishing and perverting any good news.

Do any of you bother to read, search, look for news, REAL news on Iraq?
Have you ever read this?

Best source for President Bush's words and actions on Iraq!
God knows you never hear about this on the "news" or read about it in one of the "major" propaganda rags. Of course, if any of his statements were published, it was only to ridicule him and/or call him a liar using un-sourced information, words taken out of context, or innuendos. Many of you here helped their efforts. Disgusting!
