OBAMA is No Tiger Woods (The Golfer has actually acheived something and doesn't play the victim!)
OC Register ^ | Mar 14, 2008 | John Ziegler

Posted on 03/16/2008 8:17:51 AM PDT by reformjoy

On the surface, Tiger Woods and Barack Obama seem to share much in common. While both are obviously among the most charismatic, talented and famous people in the nation (if not the world) it is in the area of race where their apparent similarities have received by far the most attention.

…. reaching heights of achievement that no one of their backgrounds had ever attained before, both have been given credit for creating, as well as taking advantage of, a so-called postracial dynamic that many herald as a break with our country's often disgraceful history when it comes to race.

I don’t think Tiger even considers himself black, and he had a good father. I guess you have to have a black father that abandons the family like Obama and Halle Berry in order to consider yourself black.

Isn’t it odd that the media have largely ignored Madelyn Dunham Barrack Obama’s maternal Grandmother alive and living in Honolulu HI.

Why is that? Is she the black sheep of the Obama family or would she be welcomed in the church of Jeremiah Wright?

Tiger Woods’ race is a little (how to put it), complicated. He has a black father ( who was always there for him ), an Asian Mother ( Thai ). Hos mother Kultida, originally from Thailand, is of mixed Thai (50 percent), Chinese (25 percent), and Dutch (25 percent) ancestry. This makes Woods himself one-quarter Chinese, one quarter Thai, one quarter African American, one-eighth Native American, and one-eighth Dutch. He refers to his ethnic make-up as “Cablinasian” (a portmanteau term he coined from Caucasian, Black, American-Indian, and Asian).

If there is one person who is in himself a “unity” of races, you can’t find anyone more representative than Tiger Woods.

The media is a team member of the Obama election team.
The old media are radicalized leftist too .
They need a radical leftist in power to shut down the new media and talk radio .
They are dying and only the Dems can save them.
Only the fairness doctrine and the regulating the Internet can save them and there fellow Dems. White hater Obama pr guy Axelrod has instructed the media to keep away from her. She must knot poll well with blacks and self loathing white radical leftists. stay away from

I am a huge fan of Tiger's. His mental toughness is almost as admirable as his superb playing. He is one of the few athletes that would make a good role model for a kid.

However, I bet he's an Obama supporter.

Tiger is an American that is judged by his talent and not by his parents lineage.

He has ability, dedication and nerves that don't betray him when he is faced with a crucial shot.

His "make to choke" ratio is the one factor that puts him in a class by himself.

Osamaobama is an American politician, who is fawned over by the msm so that any gaffes are eliminated or minimized.

His accomplishments are:

First term US Senator, IL state senator, street "organizer".

Crazy Aunt Gerry was right, if he wasn't halfrican, he and jim webb would be clipping coupons in the senate cloakroom.

Tiger CAN play the victim, though. A few years ago he was playing the Phoenix Open and someone spotted a man with a backpack containing a Legally carried concealed weapon.

The carrier was arrested and the press made it sound like he was a racist with the intent to kill Tiger. This was perfectly idiotic but Tiger has refused to play in Phoenix since then. And of course, this incident is played up every year by the press.

Until then I was a huge Tiger fan but that lost me.

I watch a lot of golf, but somehow missed that story. However, I googled it, and came up with this from an article @ Golf Today:
"Woods last played Phoenix in 1999, when police wrestled a drunken man to the ground and found a loaded pistol in his backpack. Woods' agent said at the time that Woods wouldn't return unless security was tightened".

When I took the concealed carry class here in Houston, we were told that drinking, let alone drunkenness is not allowed if you are carrying a weapon. If the dude @ Phoenix was actually drunk, I would question whether his concealed weapon was "legal". He probably had a driver's license as well, but it too is void if he was drunk.

Tiger Woods might be the most talented athlete on Earth. You might dismiss what he does, but he is immensely talented. On top of that, he is extraordinarily diligent. Barak Obama is a mixed race Senator with the middle name Hussein. That is the extent of their similarities.

I didn't dismiss the obvious, Einstein. I dismissed that Obama shares that distinction with him, which was what was asserted in the first sentence of the thread, at least as I understood it.

I haven’t studied the CC laws here but I seriously doubt that it is illegal to carry if under the influence UNLESS the weapon is brandished.

As to having a D/L, it is perfectly legal to have a D/L while drunk. Your D/L is NOT “voided”. You just are not allowed to drive.

Here in Texas, carrying a loaded gun while your are also "loaded" is not allowed. Just as it is not allowed to carry it to a school, hospital, bar, etc. The "brandishing" would have nothing to do with it, aside from the fact that you would not be charged with unlawful possession of a firearm if no one knows you have it. If you were accosted by the Police, and they discover you are both drunk and carrying, you would likely be charged with unlawful possession of the firearm, regardless of the license.

As to having a D/L, it is perfectly legal to have a D/L while drunk. Your D/L is NOT “voided”. You just are not allowed to drive.

I meant that the right to drive is "voided" if drunk, regardless of the license. But I suspect you knew that was what I meant. The analogy with the driver's license was that having a license, and then violating the terms of the license does not mean you complied with the law. If you drive drunk it is no defense to say you are legally licensed to drive. The same would be true if you are found to be in possession of a weapon while drunk. Here in Texas, we were taught that if a policeman stops you, for, say, a routine traffic stop, you should give him both your DL and CCL if you are carrying at the time.

No doubt I will raise a furor here if anyone reads this but Tiger’s success at golf is largely due to his ability to concentrate and focus on minute detail and remain in the present. That would be an Asian attribute.

Whether he is of any other ethnicity is unimportant insofar as his superior abilities at golf are concerned. It takes a mind which can hold thought and extend it into body movement which is Tiger’s gift.

I admire his dedication to the promotion and uplifting of his sport so many other people have access to learning it for it is a good pastime lasting for much of a lifetime.

Regarding the comparison between Tiger and Obama - there is no comparison other than mixed ethnicities which doesn’t mean much when it comes to integrity.

All races have those who have it and those who do not.

The comparison is totally worthless and moot.

This is true. One reason the PGA Tour is my favorite sport (and I don't even golf!) is that the players are only paid if they do well (endorsements notwithstanding).

I mentioned Tiger as a role model becaue IMO he is the only tour player to enjoy the same superstar status as players in more high-profile sports like NFL, NBA, MLB, etc. And those sports are riddled with players (Michael Vick, steroid users, people covered in tattoos, inarticulate losers, etc) who do not make good role models.

I do wonder myself about Obama, though. He is very charming and seems to melt his way into almost every heart.
