OBAMA is No Tiger Woods (The Golfer has actually acheived something and doesn't play the victim!)

On the surface, Tiger Woods and Barack Obama seem to share much in common. While both are obviously among the most charismatic, talented and famous people in the nation (if not the world) it is in the area of race where their apparent similarities have received by far the most attention.

…. reaching heights of achievement that no one of their backgrounds had ever attained before, both have been given credit for creating, as well as taking advantage of, a so-called postracial dynamic that many herald as a break with our country's often disgraceful history when it comes to race.

I haven’t studied the CC laws here but I seriously doubt that it is illegal to carry if under the influence UNLESS the weapon is brandished.

Here in Texas, carrying a loaded gun while your are also "loaded" is not allowed. Just as it is not allowed to carry it to a school, hospital, bar, etc. The "brandishing" would have nothing to do with it, aside from the fact that you would not be charged with unlawful possession of a firearm if no one knows you have it. If you were accosted by the Police, and they discover you are both drunk and carrying, you would likely be charged with unlawful possession of the firearm, regardless of the license.

As to having a D/L, it is perfectly legal to have a D/L while drunk. Your D/L is NOT “voided”. You just are not allowed to drive.

I meant that the right to drive is "voided" if drunk, regardless of the license. But I suspect you knew that was what I meant. The analogy with the driver's license was that having a license, and then violating the terms of the license does not mean you complied with the law. If you drive drunk it is no defense to say you are legally licensed to drive. The same would be true if you are found to be in possession of a weapon while drunk. Here in Texas, we were taught that if a policeman stops you, for, say, a routine traffic stop, you should give him both your DL and CCL if you are carrying at the time.

No doubt I will raise a furor here if anyone reads this but Tiger’s success at golf is largely due to his ability to concentrate and focus on minute detail and remain in the present. That would be an Asian attribute.

Whether he is of any other ethnicity is unimportant insofar as his superior abilities at golf are concerned. It takes a mind which can hold thought and extend it into body movement which is Tiger’s gift.

I admire his dedication to the promotion and uplifting of his sport so many other people have access to learning it for it is a good pastime lasting for much of a lifetime.

Regarding the comparison between Tiger and Obama - there is no comparison other than mixed ethnicities which doesn’t mean much when it comes to integrity.

All races have those who have it and those who do not.

The comparison is totally worthless and moot.

He is one of the few athletes that would make a good role model for a kid.

Nearly every member of The Tour is a good role model. These are highly achieving men rooted firmly in reality.

This is true. One reason the PGA Tour is my favorite sport (and I don't even golf!) is that the players are only paid if they do well (endorsements notwithstanding).

I mentioned Tiger as a role model becaue IMO he is the only tour player to enjoy the same superstar status as players in more high-profile sports like NFL, NBA, MLB, etc. And those sports are riddled with players (Michael Vick, steroid users, people covered in tattoos, inarticulate losers, etc) who do not make good role models.

I find it interesting that the media is attempting to give Obama a pass on this one. I still believe this guy is dangerous for the US.

More dangerous than Hillary/Bill??

I do wonder myself about Obama, though. He is very charming and seems to melt his way into almost every heart.

There is something biblical about a "false prophet" who everyone will love and adore, making the way for the Anti-Christ... and even this Freeper ... finds Obama magnetic!!

Could we all be captured in "Obama's Spell"??

I see it, I feel it, I pray McCain can break us all free!

Don’t forget that golf is the ONLY sport where players call penalties on themselves.
