Jeremiah Wright's Inspiration? Malcom X and "Roosting Chickens" - God's Judgement of White America

God's Judgement of White America (The Chickens Come Home to Roost) Malcolm X, edited by Imam Benjamin Karim

December 4 , 1963

note - this speech was delivered before Malcolm left the Nation of Islam and accepted true Islam -- so his views in this speech do not reflect his own or those he held near the end of his life.

This speech is sometimes called "The Chickens Come Home To Roost," because of an answer Malcolm X gave in response to a question following the speech. The question concerned the late President John Kennedy. It was Malcolm X's answer, that the Presidents death was a case of "chickens coming home to roost" -- that the violence that Kennedy had failed to stop had come back to him, this resulted in the Elijah Muhammad silencing him. Malcolm X left the Nation of Islam a short time later.

The Honorable Elijah Muhammad teaches us that as it was the evil sin of slavery that caused the downfall and destruction of ancient Egypt and Babylon, and of ancient Greece, as well as ancient Rome, so it was the evil sin of colonialism (slavery, nineteenth-century European style) that caused the collapse of the white nations in present-day Europe as world powers. Unbiased scholars and unbiased observers agree that the wealth and power of white Europe has rapidly declined during the nineteen-year period between World War II and today.

So we of this present generation are also witnessing how the enslavement of millions of black people in this country is now bringing White America to her hour of judgment, to her downfall as a respected nation.

A little history lesson.

"And even those Americans who are blinded by childlike patriotism can see that it is only a matter of time before White America too will be utterly destroyed by her own sins, and all traces of her former glory will be removed from this planet forever.

White America should be asking herself: "What does God want for these twenty-two million ex-slaves?" Who will make White America know what God wants? Who will present God's plan to White America? What is God's solution to the problem caused by the presence of twenty-two million unwanted slaves here in America? And who will present God's solution?"

Good info! Here is a report on another radical that Hussein worships.

In The Weekly Standard, Andrew Ferguson writes on “The Wit And Wisdom Of Barack Obama”:

What is unmistakable is the creepy kind of solipsism and the air of self-congratulation that clings to his campaign. “There is something happening,” he says in stump speeches. And what's happening? “Change is happening.” How so? “The reason our campaign has been different is about what you, the people who love this country, can do to change it.” And the way to change it is to join the campaign, which, once you join it, will change America. Because this is our moment. The time is now. Now is the time. Yes, we can. We bring change to the campaign because the campaign is about change. We are the ones we've been waiting for. Obama and his followers are perfecting postmodern reflexivity. It's a campaign that's about itself. The point of the campaign is the campaign...

On his website the videos of his most acclaimed speeches have proved much more popular than the transcripts. As a candidate he fits a public that prefers the sensation of words to the words themselves. His speeches are meant to be succumbed to rather than thought about.

But what if you do think about them?

Among Ferguson's observations: Whereas every other shopworn cliche from Obama’s stump speech is standard-issue bipartisan boilerplate recycled from Clinton, Bush, Kerry, Dole, Bradley, Gingrich, Dean and Ford, “We are the change we've been waiting for” apparently originates with “the left-wing-radical-feminist-bisexual poet June Jordan”.

["What is God's solution to the problem caused by the presence of twenty-two million unwanted slaves here in America?"]

God's solution is for free people to live together in peace.

This whole “messianic” theme goes way back.

[ White America should be asking herself: "What does God want for these twenty-two million ex-slaves?" ]

Ex-slaves?.. what ex-slaves?.. Nobody in America was a slave.. Except the socialism supported and advanced by most blacks.. Socialism is Slavery by Government..

True most in America are slaves.. Slaves to the givernment.. How can you pay taxes on something you own?.. UNLESS you dont own it at all.. but are renting it from the govenment..

Malcom X was a moron.. Oh! and what about some 500,000 white people that died for slavery and States rights.. 98% of the people in the southern Armies never owned a slave even one slave.. They didnt give their lives for slavery but for State rights..

How quickly they forget black slave holders, the Underground Railroad, jury nullification, the whole Northern Army, that the US put an end to an institution that’s existed for about as long as mankind.

It’s not like America invented slavery, or even that the majority of slaves taken from Africa even ended up in the US.

My ancestors came here to escape what amounted to slavery themselves in the old country.

There were probably more European indentured servants than African black slaves. Most of Europe was still practicing feudalism. It was a tough life for most everyone.

And what about all the white (and Chinese) slaves that worked and died in America and in the West Indies before the increasing numbers of black slaves replaced them?

Why is it that every time I hear that preacher's name, my internal karaoke machine starts playing this:

"Jeremiah was a bullfrog".

The actual title was "Joy to the World" by the late Hoyt Axton, a sorely missed country music artist.

* Music runs deep in his family. His mom wrote "Heartbreak Hotel".

Hey, cool! I learned not one, but three things from your post:

1)Axton wrote the Jeremiah song;

2) His Mom wrote "HH"; and

3) Why some FReepers have been making "bullfrog" references to the chronically intemperate Irreverend Wright (never made the connection on my own).

Thanks!

It's like the smart boy besting his mentors. But not being intellectually honest about it.

It would be, except this guy might become POTUS, and he is a well-educated, radical socialist.

Slavery as an institution has existed since time began. It was the British who FIRST banned slavery in the early 19th century, and was enforced by the Royal Navy. Abolitionist sentiment then spread to the USA about 20 years later. This, and the US Civil War, were the start of the end of slavery in the world.

This, and the US Civil War, were the start of the end of slavery in the world.

It still IS practiced in some parts of the world. This notion that African slavery is somehow an American invention is just crazy.

I’ve seen FReepers praise Malcolm X.

Wonder if they will do the same for Wright?
