Country long known as a land of emigrants is transformed by migrants
PORTLAOISE, Ireland - As revelers worldwide celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with a pint of Guinness, dyed-green milk or visions of red-bearded leprechauns, it’s a good bet that few of them will have Rotimi Adebari in mind.
But, for those seeking an authentic vision of today’s Ireland, perhaps they should.
The election last year of Nigerian-born Adebari as mayor of Portlaoise is the most prominent manifestation of the changes sweeping this island, which is rapidly evolving from a land of emigration into one of immigration, where at least 1 in 10 people is foreign-born.
This transformation — fueled by a decade-long economic boom and relatively liberal immigration laws — means Ireland has gone from Western Europe’s poorest and most homogeneous country to one of its wealthiest and most cosmopolitan in little more than a generation.
For the first time in its history, Ireland, which sent hundreds of thousands of emigrants to the United States, Britain and elsewhere, is wooing large numbers of migrants.
That has forced the country — and communities like Portlaoise, a commuter town of 14,000 residents 50 miles southwest of Dublin — to get a crash course in integration.
“When I came into this town in 2000, I could count the number of people that are born outside of Ireland that live in Portlaoise,” said Adebari, the country’s first black mayor.
“But today it is a completely different story. The town has become so diverse, so multicultural,” he said.

Dublin is another world compared to Macroom and Killarney. It's still very much worth the trip. I can't wait to go back.

Don’t go to Dublin, it’s a city like any other. Although the pubs are great. I spent two weeks there last year and enjoyed many other cities. The people of Ireland (not the immigrants to Ireland)are exceptionally friendly.
'White' people didn't immigrate to those continents because the natives had such great economies, but they did immigrate. Europe traditionally has not been on the receiving end of immigration, usually sending out emigrants. Now the tables are turning.
The idea that blondism and blue eyes will become extinct due to the reunion of the human race is a myth, displaying a lack of understanding of how genetics work (though there is still a lot to learn about genetics, Mendel was over a century ago, and has held up decently since then with only a few modifications).

No, I’m not on the ‘all muslims are evil and are taking over Britain’ bandwagon. However, Britain is definately becoming more like a Democratic People’s Republic with an ever-expanding state that increasingly believes it has the right to poke it’s nose into spheres of life it has no business in, and an increasing tax burden to fund it all.
The great thing about Ireland is it’s much less down that path, but in most other key respects is pretty much the same as England, so the culture shock wouldn’t be as harsh...

So true, and don’t forget Connemara, Clare and Galway to the West. Just like all big cites Dublin has areas that are not safe to go to. The Irish are still very friendly and you have to get out of the cities to experience the true Ireland.

Perhaps, but the Irish sure don’t seem to be fighting it, at all. Maybe it’s not France, but that is only a difference in time. It’s not because Eire is making any sort of push back that is significant. They are just as welcoming as the rest of them. It’s just the numbers aren’t quite as bad...not yet anyway.
Actually, there is an increase in 'interracial' marriages among Japanese recently, and a large part of their supposed 'extinction' is largely due to 'one drop policies' similar to 'whites.' If you include all the people with Japanese ancestry, the numbers are growing.
Add onto that, the Yamada race is hardly 'pure.' Many look northeast Asian, but many also look southeast Asian, and the population has a mix of sinodonty and sundadonty.
In that case—though why harp on what’s occurring today and ignoring what happened yesterday?—there are many Europeans who are still emigrating to the United States, not to mention Australia.

Meanwhile, if you're trying to use the Bible, look to Revelation. Man will be renewed and receive new bodies--probably based on the original/most-advanced model. Not to mention that at the end, things will be similar to Noah's days, potentially including a monolingual species. And again, that is what Babel was about--languages--not 'races.'

This is the mistake made in Western Europe. The downturn in the birthrate there would have been bad, but they could have recovered from it if they hadn't imported the Third World. Now they won't recover from it, because the white population sees the writing on the wall and will simply fade away into cultural death. The Japanese will recover from their demographic downturn as long as they don't repeat this tragedy.

Genetic diversity is beneficial precisely because it allows species to diverge, not merge and integrate.

But that's not all God did. In addition to changing the language, God scattered the language groups abroad from one another. That scattering allowed racial enclaves to form which, in turn, made it many times more difficult for man to ever try again to form a one world government to challenge God's authority. That's because racial groups don't get along. They have different strengths and weaknesses, different desires and cultures, and different societal patterns. Any society can take in a few people from other races and cultures, but mass migration and mass diversity leads to conflict every time.

Haven't you ever wondered why evil, world government type entities such as the UN and the EU are so obsessed with erasing borders and throwing every possible ethnic group in with one another?
