The real tragedy is that while perhaps this technology is worthwhile, Dr. Robert Bussard, of “Bussard Ramjet” fame solved the Nuclear Fusion problem with his polywell. The Dept of Energy who earns money on the endless non functional tokamak won’t even look at the working polywell. We have Fusion available and because of politics we can’t have it. It’s a crime.

I saw Dr Bussard's presentation about this, and it looked very impressive at face value, but as a non-physicist I could not tell how realistic it was. I was among several after the talk that were asking if we could invest a few thousand in it, but he didn't seem to want to raise funds that way.

Don’t fret - there are at least two other new appraoches to the fusion problem that show as much (if not more) promise, and at least one of them is very well and privately funded.
