Child sexualisation has damaging effects
The Courier - Mail ^ | 3/19/2008 | Karen Brooks

Posted on 03/19/2008 6:44:42 AM PDT by redrunner

JUST as Democrat Senator Lyn Allison announces a bipartisan inquiry into the "sexualisation of children in the contemporary media environment", news of a 15-year-old schoolgirl being filmed on a mobile performing a sex act on a classmate makes headlines.

The footage was circulated among at least 100 other students and, understandably, family, police and the school are dismayed.

Some people are using this case to push the argument for banning mobile phones from schools, discussing their misuse and how inappropriate it is to have them in an educational environment. But emphasising this aspect overlooks a much more salient point: what sort of culture are we creating where a 15-year-old girl allows herself to be filmed sexually experimenting?

It's also too easy simply to condemn the act and her youthfulness. The fact is that by about the age of 16, more than 50 per cent of girls and 65 per cent of boys are, in varying degrees, sexually active.

In other words, within contemporary contexts, this type of behaviour is, however disturbing it may be for older people to hear, relatively "normal".

But the public display of sexual acts is not, and the sad fact is that for the young people involved, it's likely a badge that, depending on their own sex, they'll wear with shame or pride.

Distributing the footage is, to a degree, something you would expect of curious, hormonally drenched young people who don't yet have a framework for understanding how reputations are made and broken.

To them, it's an illicit and exciting glimpse of something they've either already done or intend to do – much like peeking at a "nudie" magazine and, nowadays, "accidentally" entering an X-rated website, allowing adolescent curiosity to be simultaneously stimulated and assuaged.

The article concludes:

We need to remember that it's adults who create the culture our children grow in and hopefully thrive; and it's up to us to change it as well.

"If we don't take this opportunity at least to examine the options, discuss how and when to facilitate exposure and education about sex and the media, then it's not only the inquiry that will fail children, but all of adult society: one that allows the sexualisation and display of children to flourish in any guise.

Banning cell phones seems premature inasmuch as they are safety tools as well. Ban the behavior - the numbers are easily traced and personalized punishment can be effected.

Maybe there should be an investigation to “The Sexualization of children in contemporary Public Schools”? Or would that be considered “anti-Gay”?

I was highly sexualized in 6th grade and - while I don't blame any of my problems on that - I sometimes wonder if I'd be married and have children now that I'm almost 40, had it not been for that experience.

Something got messed up by that early sex....I don't know what, but something did.

Unfortunately, too many parents are too self absorbed in their own doings to give a hoot about their children. Thank God there are some parents today who do care enough to guide their children the right way.

NO! Biblical morality is right! God's law is right because He is the standard of righteousness. If one's tradition were to offer up a virgin in a volcano and to eat your enemy it would hardly be right. To the extent that America was founded by men who sought to manifest the word of God in our traditions; there is much common ground with our tradition and righteousness. If you remove the standard of God's law you will certainly feel the depravity of man's.

that is something you will never know. But, with a strong belief in the sanctity of marriage, and willingness to love one another completely, leaving “self” out of the equation, you can certainly experience the fullness of life with another.

Although I fantasized about sex early on, I had no sexual experience until after 20 years of age and have now been married to the same pretty little girl for 58 years. Ups and downs, yes - but we worked problems out - together.

The Lord warned not to make children into whores and whoremongers yet society degenerates further and further into degradation and the degenerate politicians who hate God and His Christ will continue to grow in power until Christ Jesus returns after the 7 year wrath of God to come when the nations of the world will try to destroy Israel. We Christians who believe the Holy Bible know all prophecy will be fulfilled, and the Church can not bring in the Kingdom of Christ until the Father sends the Son Christ Jesus after the 7 year wrath of God on the unbelieving nations and peoples of the world, a period initiated when the one world movement of sin causes the anti Christ, a man, to rise to world power, a man who will obtain power by flatteries and deceptions and miracles, a worldly intellectual man indwelt by the devil, Satan. And the time is near, even the children are becoming whores in this present evil world system.
Hence, “God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.” And,

“For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?”

Even when we fail to keep all His laws, He still wants us to keep His laws so that we do not harm ourselves or our children. The world system destroys people by the millions and will do so as they harden their hearts. There are so many sick and evil things in the world that only God can keep us safe in Christ Jesus from the sin which so easily beset us. Therefore, I to trust only in the Work and Word of Gods only begotten Son Jesus Christ, My God and my Saviour.

“Adults create the world, children live it. Juvenile delinquency is always rooted in adult delinquency. And in this process, parents play the key role when children grow up among adults who refuse to recognize anything that is fine and good, or worthy of respect.”

Believe it or not, that’s from a sample in the Ministry song “So What.” (no, most definitely not a religious band, quite the opposite)

This is the “next frontier” for the left.

The American Psychological Association recently unclassified homosexuality as a mental illness/anomaly, pedophilia is next.

Evidence -

they’ve stated that “adult-child sex can be healthy for the child”.

The UN published some “human rights” agenda including child emancipation from parental authority and promoted sexual freedom for children.

Seriously, what is the downside to following God’s rules as laid out in the Bible? He’s promised success and prosperity if you do (Joshua 1:8).

You might miss out on something?

Stupid, arrogant “liberals” think they have more wisdom in their lifetimes than the accumulated wisdom of thousands of years.

I to (sic)trust only in the Work and Word of Gods only begotten Son Jesus Christ, My God and my Saviour.

Jesus is a savior only if you need saving. Saving from what? From breaking the standard of righteousness of God's law. Saving for what - (Ephesians 2:10) ...for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. Now for any work to be "good" it must meet two criteria: it must be in accord with God's standard (law), it must be accompanied with faith in God's Son.

The law has many uses, none of them accomplish salvation, but the first use demonstrates the need of salvation, while the second use restrains the actions of evil men to not be as evil as they might if unrestrained, and the third is a a road map for sanctification. If we pray "Thy kingdom come..." we are asking the king to reign in a more manifest manner and that would necessitate His (rule)law being recognized. The law did not pass away, it was fulfilled in its first use by the resurrection of Christ and is being fulfilled in the second and third uses as it is proclaimed.

Well said. Liberal hubris will be its unavoidable downfall. They think that modern man has somehow risen above and beyond God’s Truth, but there is nothing new under the sun and they will reap the just consequences of their own folly.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

There two groups of good parents:

1)Homeschoolers

2)Deprogrammers. These are the parents who are working twice as hard as homeschoolers in deprogramming their children of all the filth that they pick up in government schools each day.

“There two groups of good parents”

Two and only two. There are only two groups of good parents, and one are homeschoolers, the other deprogrammers, and there are no other groups of good parents.

Here’s hoping you aren’t homeschooling yours. You remind me of my own dear mother.

Phew! Thanks for clearing that up for me.

Now I can just write off the entire continent of Asia and much of the rest of the world when considering what is right and wrong.

Why? Did not God create them too? Is Jehovah not God of all? If ethics are relative they cease to ethical! Stop suppressing your innate knowledge of God, accept His rule - AKA Repent! He who made will also judge you! You already by know by what standard.

I'm not talking about the people, but the traditions and ideas and philosophies.

Since there is no indigenous culture in Asia based on the Bible, then there is nothing 'Biblically' based in Asia.

Now you can argue that God has spoken in mysterious ways to Asians such that some happen to be living Biblical lives without actually having read the Bible, but then why should anyone go to the Bible when they can find out what God wants in countless other texts such as the Baghavad Gita?

Or you can say that now that Christians are in Asia there is Biblical teaching in Asia. But where was it during the 1000's of years before any apostles or missionaries got there?

Were they all living in sin going to hell?

Of course your answer is 'Yes'.

So now I can confine myself to the wisdom of the Bible. But which Bible? RSV? King James original? The Latin Vulgate?

oops! :-)

There are **3** groups of good parents:

1) Homeschoolers

2) Those who sacrifice to send their children to a Christian schools well grounded in the bible, and not in worshiping the god of Liberation Theology.

3)Deprogrammers. These are the parents who are working twice as hard as homeschoolers in deprogramming their children of all the filth that they pick up in government schools each day.

I was on FoxNews’ website last night and one of the headlines on the Entertainment section of the front page was “Porn star Jenna Jamison wants to see Charlize Theron naked”.... Thirty years ago, Jamison would have been considered a slut and NEVER given a place on a respectible news station.
Soddom and Gomorrah (forgive the spelling....), we’re coming close...........
