My understanding is that any device capapble of hurling an object faster or harder than can be done by hand, and capable of inflicting injury, is illegal.
I don't think catapults are covered however. Which lends itself to some interesting scenarios.

I’m culling links, and writing up a little summary for my blog, and am including this particular incident...
I Don’t know exactly when it’ll be finished though. Probably later tonight. I’ll post here when it is though.
I agree it’s important to keep tabs on what is going on — especially as in the case of this action where it got violent and the police were prevented from even arresting those who were the perpetrators of the assaults! *Still shaking my head over this...*

Wonder if shes gotten to all those voicemails yet...Well, when I left my message yesterday, her voice mail message said that they would get back to me within 24 hours.
That was 25 hours ago.
She returns her phone calls almost as well as she enforces DC's laws.
To: oneamericanvoice
BTW: I saw on another thread a link to an ABC story that showed people getting arrested, but that may have been from the protest in New York. I think they were implying that it was 80 arrests across the country, but that’s one of the things I’ll be checking on — I’m sure Kristinn and everyone else who was in DC though would be reliable as source info.

You are going to have to trust us on this. The source is rock-solid.

there was a HUGE DIFFERENCE in the two incidents. I don't disagree, but what else in 1957 is anything like this, other than the efforts of other and some of the same moonbats in 1968? Of course I remember events of '68 a whole lot better than those of '57, being 18-19 rather than 7.

Moonbat Cityit has a certain ring to it! It does.
You wanna see sin of the wickedest kind?
Here it is!
You wanna see virtue left behind?
Here it is!
Sodom was vice
And visa-versa
You wanna say where the vice is worser?
Here it is!
I mean, here it is!
You wanna live life in the rottenest city?
Here it is!
Women and whiskey, night and day?
Here it is!
You wanna embrace the golden calf?
Ankle, and thigh, and upper half?
Here it is!
I mean, here it is!
Moonbat City
Moonbat City
The Lord don't like it here
Moonbat City
Moonbat City
Your reckoning day is near
Moonbat City
Moonbat City
Here's what he's gonna do
God love this town
And swallow it down
And goodbye to you
Will you go to heaven?
Will you go to hell?
Either repent, or fare thee well
God will take care of Moonbat City
Comes the end, and it won't be pretty
Here it is!
I mean, here it is!
Here it is!
I mean, here it is!
Here it is!
I mean, here it is!
Amen!

Outside the White House (ie Pennsylvania Ave) I believe is Secret Service jurisdiction.
They were warned, just as MPDC were warned a week beforehand.

The section of the Constitution that sets up the District also sets up military bases.
To: BufordP
LOL !!
That wouldn't surprise me a bit. Coddle the rioters and arrest the peaceful counter-protesters.
BTW, It's 28 hours and counting, for the chief's "within 24 hour" return call.

I think the Marine Barracks are right down the street...
14th and I???
No, they’re over at Eastern Market, around 8th and I SE not 14th and L NW.

Hey it doesn’t matter where the barracks are located. The Marines have crossed more dangerous terrain than that.

There was some discussion as to whether DC falls under the jurisdiction of federal law, as it is not a state. The implication seemed to be that they can make their own laws.IIRC, D.C. has had home rule since the '70s.

Maybe this next time they will feel empowered (from their freedom to toss paint bombs yesterday) to toss molotov cocktails and acid bombs.I have seen multiple references to acid bombs and molotov cocktails.
It seems some form of fire/safety measure is warranted in the face of such a potential threat.
Can anyone research what it would take (without illegality) to be able to tap into a fire hydrant there and hook up a small fire hose (1 1/2 inch line)? Do the hydrants there have sufficient pressure (50-100#)? It could be useful if the crowd gets out of hand, too...
