There is a Marine barracks in the District of Columbia. Could the Marines guard the recruiting center or is that a violation of the Posse Comitatus law (even though the civilian authorities are doing nothing)?

The Marines are in DC to protect it from attack. I don't believe that violates posse commitatus ~ on the other hand, it's raining heavy off and on again around the DC area.
Not a good day for a demonstration.
These people do have a right to "protest" ~ and some of them will always be violent.
This evening a bunch of them will return to their hotels in this area. Their cars will be pryed open and looted by the local MS13 unit ~ they love the high end digital cameras this sort of people bring with them.
Justice will be done ~

Not if they are guarding a Marine, or for that matter any federal, facility.

Could the Marines guard the recruiting center...
They were talking about getting an MP unit assigned to that center.
