Dems urged to hold superdelegate primary
Yahoo News/AP ^ | March 19, 2008 | ERIK SCHELZIG

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Why doesn't the Democratic Party hold a primary among its superdelegates to reach a quick decision between Barack Obama and Hillary Rodham Clinton?

That idea was proposed publicly Wednesday by Tennessee Gov. Phil Bredesen, because he believes Democratic chances in November will be hurt if the nominee isn't decided until the party's August convention.

Bredesen himself is a superdelegate and undecided in the presidential race. The national convention will have almost 800 superdelegates — elected and party officials — whose votes for a presidential nominee are not bound by the results of any primary or caucus.

Actually, Hillary might take the lead in the popular vote.

Obama has the lead in delegates.

It's close enough that either is going to be able to argue that they are the people's candidate.

It's an amazingly close primary, and it's gonna get ugly.

LOL. Let 750 party officials decide the nominee, what a throwback to the bad old days!! WTH, that’s how it’s going to be in August anyway, so why not get it over with now?

Oh, and dump Obambi while you can ‘cause he will never have a chance now that America is learning that he is steeped in racist far-left America-hating “black power” ideology for the past 20+ years.

LOL... I am truly amazed at how badly the Demodogs are handling this situation. Sheesh: it’s just a little bit of competition; a close ball game! Surely they can figure out how to handle a little pressure, and continue the ball game!

If not, then no one in their whole party seems capable of thriving in the pressure cooker environment of the White House.

It sounds like they want to hurry up and do it because obama’s in real trouble. He’s tumbling down from the top of that pedestal they perched him on.

That’s why I’d rather we run against Obama. He’s precarious and I think will fall way before the lection. Easy pickin’s.

After pastor-gate, I definitely see them picking Clinton. But all those disenfranchised black voters. Hopefully they piss off black voters forever. I think most will not show up to vote for her.

Yeah, that’s the ticket! A SuperDelegate primary!! What better way to rub it in to the little people that, hey, we’re special and our vote is more important than yours!

I prefer to take obamassiah down first. How does one campaign against their lefist created God if he wins? Everything will be off limits where he is concerned. Now the beast, cankles will be raked over the coals and most of the dems will enjoy watching it, especially the obama supporters.

Except for the fact that the Democrats can't help themselves from crying out and claiming that the runner was called out at second just because she was female and that the last pitch was called Ball Four instead of Strike Three just because the pitcher was black.

The Democrats can't play as a team paying attention to the colors of the uniforms instead of the colors of the skin. They can only play as individual victims of sexism or racism.

Better yet: Put Obama and Hillary on an island with no food or water, leave them there 45 days and the survivor gets the nomination! You could even film it and call it something like, oh, I don’t know....Survivor or Lost or Showdown or something....

Since the Democratic Party is a private organization, they can pick anyone they want without consulting the people. Basically, it is not unconstitutional. I believe that either way the Democratic party is doomed with the two turkeys they have running. Either of their candidates will be more devisive than anything the claim President Bush has done.

Yes, by all means, lets you have a superdelegate primary.
If that isn't good enough, perhaps and golly gee, you could hold a superduper delegate primary.

Why whatever are primaries for anyway? - except as opiate for the masses to lull them into believing ...

After pastor-gate, I definitely see them picking Clinton.

I'd say it still depends on how Obama does in the rest of the primaries.

Hillary still hasn't released her and Bill's tax returns, which are likely to have interesting ammunition within, and much of the Democrat's base is going to buy into Obama's speech effectively putting Wright to rest.

IOW the insiders want cover and do not want to do the TRUE super delegate vote at the convention.

Operation Chaos has them spooked.
