I would love to see this start a trend. I especially would like to get rid of ballots in any other language. If you can't read/speak English, you probably don't have a grasp of the issues or the candidates. So just go away.
To: decimon
The world turned upside down. How did that get through? That's just so un-American.

The “Agency” (whatever that means) should have ruled that it was/is discriminatory.
Lets duke this issue out once and for all.

Looking forward to a Gino’s cheesesteak in early April when my boys and I are going up for a Phillies game vs. our beloved Cubbies. As long as that bridge under repair on I-95 isn’t between us and the stadium...

Man, what a week so far - the Supremes pistol-whipped the Dead Kennedy gun-grabbers with a can o' 2nd Amendment whoop-ass, a Michigan judge says you can't deliberately hire or admit a one-legged, albino lesbian midget over Joe Sixpack, Hitlery and Hussein Obama are in full blown self-immoliation mode, Sean Penn made sure that, with his little pro-faux-fag diatribe whilst filming a tribute to a martyred tailgunner, he'll now have to visit New York via the Panama Canal (in the dead of night) if he wants to get there with his ass still attached, and now
this.
By God, it's great to be an American. :-)

I was going to reply in putting that crap into italics and couldn't do it. Deleting it using
Backspace had to be done left to right. My cursor now has a dot near the top I can't get rid of.
You've dhimmied my computer! ;-)

There is a sub shop here in town that has a “Please order in English” sign. They also have another sigh which I applaud, “Please do not talk on a cell phone when ordering.”
I asked the owner about the cell phone sign. He said they were remaking way too many sandwiches due to the confusion of the customer talking to his employee and into the cell phone at the same time. Good for him!

It’s a victory, no doubt. But it’s an ugly thing that a man should have to go before a commission and abide by their whims about how he runs his business. The principle should not be that we have to persuade these agencies to rule correctly—the principle should be that they don’t have the right to be ruling on these matters at all.

From the link.. The Rev. James S. Allen Sr., the commission chairman who filed the original complaint in June 2006, said
he still contends that the sign was discriminatory,"but I accept the opinion of the panel." He said the full commission was unlikely to appeal the three-member panel's decision.
BTW the other chairperson on the commission is Rev. Ralph E. Blanks . Does that make Philadelphia a Theocracy?

...they don't have the right to be ruling on these matters at all. Bingo! I recall when some restaurants posted signs informing male customers that a jacket and tie were required. Some, if not all, kept these items on hand for customers' use. If anyone ever took the owners to court for discrimination, it's news to me.
The same goes for "no tanktops" or "no bare feet.

I don't like their cheesesteaks — they're tourist food — but I'm going there next time I'm in the area. English is the lingua franca.
The Good cheesesteaks all moved out to the suburbs years ago.
