Audio and video messages from al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden since Sept. 11, 2001:

the proclamations have been getting rather trite as of late
We haven’t heard much from him since he took up with his new love interest. What is the name of his camel again?
the mummy?
Correct. He’s dead. People at the CIA seem to have an interest in keeping him alive by authenticating this stuff.
If he were alive he would have video comparable to what Zahwahiri puts out.
He’s dead, Jim.

So killing innocent women and children is acceptable, but drawing cartoons are war crimes, according to this message. WTF?!?
Wretcherd has an interesting take on what this bizarre message might mean:
What makes the Mohammed Cartoon attack on radical Islam so potent that Bin Laden himself must oppose it?...
Allah's will... permits Wahabists to describe mass-murder and outrage as "holy". It's holy because Allah commands it; and for the Faithful, Allah commands it because Muhammed says he did. Caricature Muhammed and the whole system falls to the ground... Without the authority of Mohammed, not only Wahabism but the world itself falls to pieces... That's why Bin Laden focuses his ire upon the Muhammed Cartoons...
Osama Bin Laden must on no account allow anyone else to cross for fear of what will follow: inflatable Mohammeds, Numa-numa Mohammeds, or Allah forbid, Gay Mohammeds... He fears freedom; fears individuals unrestrained by the bonds of political correctness. And he fears, as anyone who has noticed his dour mien should have guessed, scorn and laughter above all...
