Say Goodbye to the Glowbama Mystique
JWR ^ | March 19, '08 | Michelle Malkin

Barack Obama - the self-anointed soul-fixing, nation-healing political messiah - has lost his glow. Obama's talk amounted to the same old, same old. Instead of disavowal of demagoguery, we got whacked with the moral equivalence card. Instead of rejecting the Blame America mantra of left-wing black nationalism, we got more Blame Whitey. Same old, same old.For two decades, Obama tethered himself to a fire-breathing pastor peddling bitter Marxist "black liberation theology" in the name of God. Behind the "audacity of hope" was a grievance-mongering preacher animated by the voracity of hate. And understand this: The Reverend Jeremiah Wright and Barack Obama were not merely passing "associates." They were mentor and mentee, guru and student, with fates and fortunes intertwined. For two decades Obama turned a deaf ear to Wright's AIDS conspiracy theories, anti-Semite, anti-white raves, and "God damn America" diatribes. These were not occasional outbursts but the bread and butter of that church. First, Obama said "None of these statements were ones that I had heard myself peersonally in the pews," he told Fox News. Then Obama chahged his tune: "Did I know him to be an occasionally fierce critic of American domestic and foreign policy? Of course. Did I ever hear him make remarks that could be considered controversial while I sat in church? Yes."

"Even as he denied he was justifying and excusing Wright's demagoguery, Obama was doing just that by invoking slavery, Jim Crow, segregated schools, inner city violence and, yes, denial of access to FHA mortgages, to explain how we get to Wright spewing 'God damn America' on Sunday mornings." Predictably, the MSM greeted the speech as another oracle from their messiah. Chris Matthews was typical in experiencing the Rapture and the imminent Second Coming. But despite such spin, it's all on the record and on video tape - and it shouldn't and won't go away.

Well, Hillary is self destructing, Obama is being proved to be worthless, now all we have to do is get MCain tethered and a strong runningmate and we might end up taking control.

Barack Obama is , has been and continues to be a VERY
overconfident young man. He is EXACTLY the WRONG MAN for the time, though he was sold as the opposite.

If Obama would have quoted Cosby he may have succeeded in what he was trying to do.

These pukes want reparations. It is their deepest desire. Billions for their perceived harms. Watch and wait and see.

Chris Matthews is an embarrassment to adulthood. No rational adult would so unctuously swoon over a mediocrity as he does so regularly.

the reparations are what it is really about. these blacks were never slaves. their ancestors were slaves. how is that helping their ancestors? the white people of today were never slave owners. why are they getting punished.

BHO will not be a very strong candidate if he gets the nomination. He is beatable. Even by McCain.

Compared to Kerry and Gore, it is easy to get excited about mediocrity.

I agree, if Obama had sounded like Cosby he would have put this behind him, but he is incapable of putting forth a cogent message of self reliance, racial healing, and giving up of past grievances in order to move forward.

It was ‘Rev Wright isn't a racist; my white grandma is racist.’

and ‘Amerikkka DID abuse Black people.’

from Barak NMN Obama.

It was not in any way a ‘transcendent’ speech.

Hey!! I want reparations for my ancestors too! I’m sure someone somewhere was done wrong——I can guarantee it.

I don’t get these endless complaints about slavery. What your ancestor did to my ancestor is no excuse for not taking personal responsibility. Slavery ended so long ago but the subtle slavery of welfare and lowered expectations through affirmative action is still undermining their self-worth.

I think so many of these black leaders just like to play to their audience - it sells...and keeps them in business and the consequences be damned.

I just don't get it.

The blacks I know that went to college, worked their way through college, got employment after college, married, had kids after marriage, and continued working are......ta da........enjoying a successful life.

The ones I knew from high school that dropped out, sold drugs, did burglaries, created babies with their girlfriends, shunned "the Man" and spent most of their waking hours on streetcorners are......ta da........LOSERS.

In today's society, where you end up isn't because of your race. It's because of your effort.

I've seen it in my own whitey white family, I've seen it from school mates, you see it everywhere. Success takes work, and the ease of loserhood is a tempting lifestyle for a lot of people.

Making loserhood easy is the entirety of the Democrat party's election strategy. The more people addicted to government handouts, the more Democrat voters there are.
