Will Joe Bruno Be New York's 3rd Governor This Year? [Breaking Update]
Red State ^
| March 20, 2008
Posted on 03/20/2008 7:42:40 PM PDT by Clintonfatigued
The New York City Department of Education confirmed yesterday that Gov. Paterson HAS intervened on behalf of Diane Dixon to get her a job that she had apparently been turned down for.
About that same time she told the New York Post she had tape recordings proving her close relationship with him.
Details available here ++++
Only one day after David Paterson and his wife gave a heart felt speech about their infidelities and how things have been patched up, we get our first serious challenge to Gov. Paterson's position.
While Elliot Spitzer's tryst's were of the illegal kind and David's are simply of the cheating kind, he may have used his office as Lt. Gov. to garner a job for his latest girl friend.

If this is true, he’s done more than betray his wife (who has no grounds to complain). He will have betrayed his office and public oath.

This is normal behavior and resume enhancement for Democrats.
By the time.
They could march all the way through the order of succession and wind up with........

And nobody would care as long as it's a Democrat.

Obama and Paterson are two of a kind and remind me of Robert of Mugabe and his message of hope and change for the country of Zimbabwe where a loaf of bread now cost about a Bazillion Bucks.
These guys can not lead a country or state to prosperity holding on to failed Marxist's socialists views.

No. Right now they're just watching the fascinating spectacle of a public servant's compulsive need to confess every transgression in his life. Everyday's a new smarmy adventure with this guy.

NY Senate Majority Leader Joe Bruno is next in line. Spitzer hated him so much that he ordered the state troopers to follow him around to find dirt. How wonderful that would be if old Joe Bruno was brought in as Governor after the two failed Dems fail because of their bad behavior.

Could not happen to a nicer bunch of liberal wackos who vote in the likes of Schumer and Clinton.
But wait! Because Schumer and Clinton are the Senators, things like this should not happen in New York! Because they are Democrats! And Democrat rule means...UTOPIA!

The use of campaign funds for personal use might be the best reason so far to demand his resignation. But who knows, New York might not really care about now. Nevertheless, Republicans need to demand that he step down.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diane_Dixon
Diane Lynn Dixon (born September 23, 1964, in Brooklyn, New York) is an American athlete who competed mainly in the 400 metres.
She competed for the United States in the 1988 Summer Olympics held in Seoul, South Korea in the 4 x 400 metres where she won the Silver medal with her team mates Denean Howard, Valerie Brisco-Hooks and Florence Griffith Joyner.
In March of 2008, the New York Post reported that Dixon had a “close personal relationship” with New York Governor David Paterson, during which time she recorded a series of secret telephone conversations with him.[1]

God I hope not. Between Bruno, Pataki and Silver, they have been determined to destroy the state. Bruno and Pataki destroyed the republican party in NY. Once the pubs became big spenders just like the dims and sold out to the public employee unions, the fate of the party was sealed. Today there is absolutely no difference between dims and pubs except that the public has decided that if its going to have choice between liberal and even more liberal that they will go for the uber liberal dim party. After all, authenticity is important. I was going through the list of governors since the beginning of the State. There have been 55 of them. Prior to Rockefeller NY was an average tax state. Taxes were a non factor in deciding to locate in NY or Florida. Since the 60’s the tax burden has gone up many multiples. No business in their right mind would locate here. Arguably, Teddy Roosevelt was the greatest governor in NY history, although Al Smith was a good governor, even though he was a lib for the time. (Note lib of that era loved the country and believed in fighting for it).
Here’s a quote about TR from wikipedia, “On leaving the Army, Roosevelt re-entered New York state politics and was elected governor of New York in 1898 on the Republican ticket. He made such a concerted effort to root out corruption and “machine politics” Republican boss Thomas Collier Platt forced him on McKinley as a running mate in the 1900 election, against the wishes of McKinley’s manager Senator Mark Hanna.”

If Joe Bruno becomes Governor, wouldn’t the GOP lose control over the Senate?
To: panaxanax
So who comes after Bruno in succession?
And what does the junior senator from N.Y. do? Does she resign while Patterson is still gov, guaranteeing the Dems hold the seat? Or does she hold on in case she loses the Presidential race, with a Republican governor appointing her replacement?
It will be interesting.

NY Senate Majority Leader Joe Bruno is next in line. Spitzer hated him so much that he ordered the state troopers to follow him around to find dirt. Which alone should have been more than enough to boot Spitzer. This is a gross abuse of power. The hooker thing is chump change by comparison.
