“About 500 motorcyclists are expected to converge on the U.S. Marine recruiting center today to support Marines who have been the target of protests by many anti-war groups for several months.”
Now that my friend, is something beautiful. Nothing like a Leatherneck on a Harley. Those bikes will be nice and loud to wake up Berkeley (you guys get to have all the fun today).:)
Due to family obligations (and it is blessing not burden), I will be unable to attend today. But know this event in Berkeley today has been prayed for in the FR thread below and in my personal prayer times since Doug sent out the first email several weeks ago. With the action in Berkeley especially in mind the Lord had me post a new prayer this mornig. In addition, throughout the day I will continue to cover this in worship and prayer from the homefront. By the way, I also had the privilege of meeting Captain Lund back in October when a friend and I went behind Code Pink lines and without wasting our time engaging them, we simply took gifts into the recruiting station. As only God could have set it up (and in direct answer to my friends’ prayers) one of the SF television news crews was filming an interview with Lund and then covered our delivery of the gifts on the nightly news showing the Marines DO have supporters! Lund is a great man and the article he wrote the following week superbly written. He and his family are in my prayers as well.
Are You Called to Provide Worship & Prayer Cover For Those Who Support Our Troops & Our Military
May God’s presence be a mighty covering there today. Can’t wait to hear how it goes!
God bless America. God bless our troops. God bless those who support them!
AWESOME! That'll be such a beautiful sight! Berkeley will hear a clear thundering message: "America Supports Our Troops!"
God Bless you all. Keep your spirits high.
God Bless all of them. Hope there are lots of photos! That will teach them to mess with our Marines!!
What are the odds that we’ll see anyting about this tonight on the National News?
Go online to all the major news networks and ask them to cover this story. Send them this Breaking News link: 500 motorcyclists to back Marines
“What are the odds that well see anyting about this tonight on the National News?
Minus 5% is probably better. Talk about spitting on your own. These people are truly ignorant. They probably never had to work for a thing in their lives—they’re takers and complainers.
As a grandmother I should know better but it would be very difficult for me to keep from throwing something at these people. Thank God there are patriots ready to stand up to them. They would sell out our country in a minute—I wouldn’t trust any of them.
Well, that was cool - I couldn’t stay all day, but I was there for about two hours today. I took a picture or two and I’ll be putting together one of my little reports later today. I’ll post the link when it’s ready.
I wouldn’t want to hazzard a guess as to the count but many hundreds (not counting the four from code pink).
Thank you very much for the wonderful report!
I will print it and take it to my local Florida recruiting office this week.
Thank you to everyone who participated on behalf of all patriotic Americans!
It sure would be nice to see a few thousand in support of our Marines show up and turn the town upside down.
Thanks - it was a real pleasure to write this one. Usually it kind of feels like wading through the swamp...
And all Patriots who Support them!
Thanks for taking us there. You rock!!!
I also just uploaded a token amount of video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BlkSRYyYMrU
Melanie Morgan: "I've never felt safer in the City of Berkeley" - "Where's Code Pink?" - "Today you OWN the streets with your Patriotism and Pride!" She sure is an inspiration and a motivator.
Hearing the Retired Marines, Veterans and Patriots sing 'The Marine Corps Hymn' makes my heart swell with pride honor and respect. "We are proud to claim the title of United States Marine."
Dennard has since established Brigade America where he is compiling a listing of businesses supporting a Boycott of Berkeley. The hyperlinks on the page are not formatted correctly, but it's easy enough to copy the URL to visit webpages and Google businesses where the website is not listed.
Brigade America goes to Berkeley:
Today, March 22, 2008 something happened in Berkeley that I thought Id never see in my entire life. Eight hundred plus Pro-Troop demonstrators, at least 450 of whom arrived on Motorcycles, waved flags, sang the national anthem, actually said the Pledge of Allegiance, and spoke out over loudspeakers on Shattuck Avenue in support of our American soldiers and their right to recruit all over the country. A young Marine who had recently returned from Iraq was put up on the platform. He had been receiving hugs from Gold Star Moms (mothers of fallen warriors), thank yous and semper fis all day and was pretty choked up. He said the Vietnam Vets never had a homecoming welcome like this and stopped to thank all of the Vets present for their service (there were many), as well as recognizing the many Gold Star Moms and Dads present, and the many Americans who turned out to support the troops, whether they agreed with the war in Iraq or not.
Code Pink who had been out in force on the 12th of Feb. numbered 6 today.
Berkeley, the bastion of anti-military, anti patriotic thought and action, saw something today that I dont think has ever happened in that city before. One Berkeley dad was out there with his sons and by the looks on their faces you could tell they had come to Shattuck Avenue to look at new species- people who and appreciate love our soldiers. Cars drove by honking and waving at all the American flags and the police stood guard in front of the Marines Recruiting Station although today they didnt need to, because today, everyone was just going in to say Thank You.
I thought youd all like to know about it. Berkeley felt like Montana today and that is nothing short of a miracle. It felt great to be there.
Best to all,
I think you may have posted on that thread
Brian, thanks for coming to Berkeley yesterday and laying out verbally to that city how you and your company are responding to their un-American anti-Military pro-code pink pro-antiAmerican actions, and pointedly their wish to drive out the USMCOSO from Berkeley and deny the Marines their right to do business where ever they chose to.
Your comments were awesome and welcome by everyone in the crowd.
Well except for the Head of the Chamber of Commerce, who is kinda like Obama.
He says he disagrees with the City Council and the Mayor, but will NOT chastise the lefty loonys or the Mayor or the Council (he and the Mayor are now BFF's) but a Support The Troops and The Military Rally (which did not require the use of riot gear by the police as the leftist liberal protests do) apparently makes him "cringe."
Thanks again, it was good to see you there.
USMC Brat, thanks for the link to his site. I forgot he was going to do that.
