Prolife witness at Democratic National Convention, Denver, Colorado, August 22-25

Posted on 03/21/2008 9:07:48 AM PDT by Gopher Broke

Denver, CO - Make plans now to join Operation Rescue for the pro-life witness at the Democratic National Convention to be held August 22-25 in Denver, Colorado. The name of the event is "A Prayer For Change."

The event is being sponsored by the Christian Defense Coalition and the Survivors. Operation Rescue will be participating along with Generation Life National, Faith and Action, National Clergy Council, Rock for Life, and Generation Life Philadelphia.

"This is a critical year for the supporters of life. The two options for the Democratic nomination are both radical supporters of abortion who will work to prop up the failing abortion cartel," said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman. "As the nation and the world is watching, it is the duty of Christians to be a prophetic witness on behalf of the pre-born. Please join us for this powerful event!"

Planned events include prayer vigils, uplifting rallies, street activities, and outdoor concerts celebrating life and calling for an end to America's war on the pre-born. There will be special youth-oriented events, uniting and inspiring the emerging generation to take a stand for the pre-born.

For more information, please visit the special event web site at www.aprayerforchange.com.

I got the impression from the headline that the DNC will allow a prolife speaker, but this sounds like it will be an outside of the convention event?

Don’t know about everyone else but sounds like it’s another outfit looking for donations and another method of turning our elections into a 3-ring circus.

The only donation they want is your feet in the street!

The trick for Op Rescue will be to stay civil and thoughtful, while drawing enough attention to get the MSM interested in the contrast to liberal theology.

Democrats will never allow pro-life freedom of speech, since it violates The democrat party's focus on totalitarianism and its G-d hating death culture worship.

No, prolife people are NOT welcome in the Democrat party, ever.

This is an outside event, with people holding signs, etc....

Did you create that emblem yourself? It is quite stunning and conveys the message very strongly.

That would make a great sticker to slap over the top of a Clinton or Obama bumper sticker.

I’m older - almost 58 - but I see this among the young. The under 35 generation often see themselves as “survivors” since 1/3 of them never even got a chance to be born. I see a slow, but steady, change in “hearts and minds”. My small personal effort in that direction is “A Dream A Lot Like Mine” - just click http://www.myspace.com/emmettgrayson - stays away from both politics and religion. It’s more of a highly personalized “generational confession”. I believe that the role of the artist is to try to share truth and often revealing his own truth is the most effective means of doing so. My first test case for the song was my 17 year-old son and his guitar playing friends. Knocked ‘em out - and that’s a challenge when a guy my age can even get his teenage son to listen to his music, especially in front of his friends. Hope you’ll go listen.

I’ve always wanted to form a group called the White Aryan Democrats (WAD for short), complete with heavy tattoos and swastikas and such, and set up shop right where the cameras can’t miss us. I’d have my gang go around shirtless (especially the really fat ones) and in crotchless jeans and so forth. I really want to show my support for my party. Won’t you join me this August in Denver?
