Libyan leader says the Bible is counterfeit Thursday, 20th March 2008. 11:42am
By: Manasseh Zindo.
LIBYAN leader Col Muammar Gadaffi, who is in Uganda, on Wednesday March 19 celebrated the anniversary of the birth of Prophet Mohammed with a series of attacks on European countries and the Bible for besmirching the Prophet
Gadaffi was speaking to a large crowd at Nakivubo War Memorial Stadium in Kampala after leading the Thuhur (afternoon) prayer, where he said any Bible and Torah (Old Testament) that does not mention the Prophet Mohammed was written by mankind and therefore a fraud.

Gadaffi strikes me as feeble-minded and incapable of thinking logically, generally speaking. I am a born-again Christian and I am not angry with
him. I feel sorry for him and his glorying in his foolishness.

Man written, demon inspired.
When Jesus Christ, King of kings and Lord of lords, appears in the sky with the Armies of Heaven with Him, ol' Muammar will be pleading for the mountains to fall upon him, so as to hide him from the Son of God.
Right after Muammar craps his burqa, of course.

I imagine that if someone from the west said the Koran was a fraud, the believers of the Koran would be calling for a fatwah. If we are to respect their belief, then shouldn't they respect ours?
The Libyan leader lost face with Muslims after we invaded Iraq. After we removed Hussein from power in no time, he saw that we would uphold sanctions and his knees got weak and he gave us all of his WMDs. Now, he is puffing his chest up to try and gain face with his people. Or he knows Reagan is dead and he found his bravado again.

But the Bible does speak of the Prophet Muhammad! In Matthew 7:15-20, Jesus said, “Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits. Grapes are not gathered from thorn bushes nor figs from thistles, are they? So every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit, nor can a bad tree produce good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. So then, you will know them by their fruits.”

Apply the reputation for intolerance of the Taliban with a modern atheist, and you wind up with something out of the ACLU (except that they aren't always from the Looney Left). Hence, the Talibatheists.
They do things like file lawsuits about against "Under God" in the Pledge of Allegiance, grumbling about "In God We Trust" on our money, rage about a cross erected in honor of war veterans, and falsely assert that most of the Founding Fathers were deists.
We even have some around here.

100% incorrect. Their commonality is to use the state to advance their faith (or to enforce the lack of one, in the case of the Talibatheists).
Believing with you that religion is a matter which lies solely between man and his God, that he owes account to none other for his faith or his worship, that the legislative powers of government reach actions only, and not opinions, I contemplate with sovereign reverence that act of the whole American people which declared that their legislature should "make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof," thus building a wall of separation between church and State. ---Thomas Jefferson
A secular government does not equate with the advancement of atheism. The promotion of any religion (or the lack thereof) is none of government's business. That's not to say that there isn't a bit of "wriggle room"...a serviceman's grave, paid for by the government, can certainly have any religious symbol on it that he or she wishes, be it a cross, pentagram, or whatever. Likewise, having a cross on a 150 year old city seal is no more a violation of the 1st amendment than is putting a church on an historic registry. The ACLU certainly goes overboard on these sorts of things.

All atheists do not attack the traditions and foundations of the United States, any more than all Christians support them. Atheism is not incompatible with patriotism.

Are there atheists who promote atheism? Sure. However, advocating that government be secular does not require the promotion of atheism.

To say that Christians would be treated the same under ACLU or Taliban rule is absurd.
