U.S. military says hits al Qaeda propaganda units
Reuters ^ | March 22, 2008 | Randy Fabi

The U.S. military said on Saturday it had hampered al Qaeda's ability to recruit new members in Iraq by capturing or killing many of the people who make slick videos used to attract disaffected young Muslims.

U.S. military spokesman Rear Admiral Greg Smith said that in the past year, 39 al Qaeda members in Iraq responsible for producing and disseminating videos and other material to thousands of Internet Web sites had been captured or killed.

"The power of this information is obvious. These guys are using material that is used on Web sites to recruit and raise money," Smith told Reuters in an interview.

"We think the vast majority of this media network has been degraded at this point," he said, adding that the arrests had led to fewer Internet postings of al Qaeda beheadings, kidnappings and other attacks in Iraq.

Smith said militant groups had become increasingly sophisticated in their distribution of information, publishing professional-looking videos with narration, music and special effects of attacks on U.S. soldiers and Iraqis.

"Most of al Qaeda's coordinated attacks tend to be so well-planned that they allow for camera crews to be on location filming just before it happens," he said.

Does this have anything to do with the recent UBL video? They could have traced the distribution of the video.

Just a thought.

Saw this, nothing up yet on the .mil sites that I use as FRWN sources yet though. Still,.. if true, and I have a deep mistrust of anything from Reuters, good news.

These Jihadi Joe videos are chilling sometimes. Watching as restrained, blindfolded and terrified innocents in their last moments, stripped of years of life are cutdown like livestock by cowards.

And then all the damn Islamofags start singing. In the middle of a terrorist murder video, they break out in song!

They just have to sing, like they are in the San Francisco Mens choir or something. There's no stopping the singing. It's what they do. It's payback for Gitmo bombarding "battlefield detainess" with Metallica around the clock. It's like a music video to them. Muj-TV.

Personally I enjoy the Apache kills and the Predator stuff too. But especially the Apache stuff. It's kind of touching, the part where the Apache crew rakes the badguys bongo with cannon fire then saws in half the survivors "lucky" enough to make it out of the vehicle.

Gives me a little tear in my eye. Sniff.

Propaganda units claim, “they were nowhere near us... Yeah, that’s the ticket!”

Let us hope this type is news is getting out to all the would be jihadist goons. As we read in another post earlier, more of them are starting to realize jihad is not what they thought it would be. Go to Iraq and die.

This is good, but they really need to work on dealing with other kinds of propaganda as well - - namely, the kind of propaganda that led to the US military’s disgraceful railroading of the Haditha Marines.

“”Most of al Qaeda’s coordinated attacks tend to be so well-planned that they allow for camera crews to be on location filming just before it happens,” he said.”

And, every time one of these pieces of **** get killed while filming jihadi propaganda, it gets written up as another example of the US hunting down and killing journalists by “monitoring” NGOs.

Excellent news! (see my tagline)

The difference between these babboons and the “respectable” journalists of the media-industrial complex (the “MSM”)?

MSM types get a paycheck, AQ guys are paid in cash. Oh, and the AQ types are usually sober.
