Thanks... I spend more time here than with my First Wife. We had the family over yesterday for a Prayer and a Perfect Ham dinner. Glad the 2 grand kids can still it make as they are 19 and 23.

Time for bed for this old worn out body...

You need a VCR so that you can play old races. It really cuts down on the shock of not having a race every weekend.

I think I’m going up for qualifying day, I have pitpasses. I can’t afford to stay any longer because the dang hotels are 3 times the regular price. My neighbor is sending e-mails to friends to find me something.......so we’ll see.

I know what you mean, I've stayed at the Best Western in Denton (15 miles north of the track) before and they charged 175.00/night on race weekend.

Last year we stayed in Lewisville at the Roadway Inn (70/night).

I called they have rooms still.

Rodeway Inn (TX173)
1102 Texas St , Lewisville, TX, US, 75057
Phone: (972) 221-2121 Fax: (972) 221-2121

It's not the Hyatt, but works fine for race weekend.

Oh oh.........

Roush Says Toyota Team Stole “Proprietary Part”: ESPN the Magazine has an interesting and potentially explosive quote from Roush Fenway Racing co-owner Jack Roush as part of its 10th Anniversary issue, which is on newsstands this week. Two weeks ago at Atlanta Motor Speedway, the magazine quotes Roush as saying, “We had a proprietary Roush Fenway part go missing from one of my race teams, and we recovered it from a Toyota team. I’m not going to say which team it is, but we are considering legal action, or getting NASCAR involved.” If Roush’s allegations prove to be true, this could become NASCAR’s version of the recent spy scandal that rocked Formula One racing, in which the McLaren-Mercedes team was caught with confidential, proprietary test information belonging to rival Ferrari. We contacted Roush Fenway Racing today in search of further information – including team was involved and the specific part in question — and we [SIRIUS Speedway w/ Dave Moody] hope to have a statement from them later today.(Motorsports Soapbox)(3-25-2008) Comment here

I had a few errands to do around town this morning before a 1PM app at a medical equip store to have my C-PAP machine calibrated. I also had lunch at my favorite joint. When I got home wife asks what I had. I told her I had Grains - Vegies - Potatoes - Meat and Dairy at old time wholesome eatery.

Not satisfied with that she called our daughter and asked. Of course daughter is always looking for a way to get even and told her I had s Chili cheeseburger with lettuce, pickles, onions and tomatoes. Garlic French Fries and a Strawberry Milk Shake. Hey they make the shake with low fat milk... MIKES DRIVE UP since 1946.

The friction is almost palpable.

You made the mistake of raising a fine daughter, and now she’s gonna follow your example. Did ya ever stop to think she’d be the one with the foresight and energy to keep you whooped into shape? LOL... if you had it to do over, you’d want her to turn out just the same. She’s an angel.

My daughter seems to be turning out the same way, and, sadly, something in her tells her, also, that she’s in charge. What’s up with that??

So ole Jack "Everybody is treating their tires but me" Roush is at it again.

I feel for the guy, I really do. For whatever reason, Ford has been quietly reducing their NASCAR presence, and sponsors have picked up on that - witness the Yates' problems at SponsorYates.com. Roush is the Ford team these days.

Much like his tire treatment stuff, Roush had better back this up - there is a reason why people mock him so much. I do feel sorry for him, it sucks that Ford is abandoning NASCAR (or reducing their presence down to just a handful of cars), but Ford has done this with other racing series, and maybe the bean counters didn't feel the amount of money they were putting into it was giving them the return they needed.
