General Merrill "Tony" McPeak, Senator Barack Obama's military advisor and co-chair of his presidential campaign is a longtime anti-Israeli critic who has slammed Israel harshly during his career, according to an inquiry by conservative American media outlets.
McPeak, who served as the chief of staff o the US Air Force before retiring in 1994, made headlines over the past week after accusing former President Bill Clinton of McCarthyism. Yet as it turns out, over the years he has criticized Israel for failing to withdraw to the 1967 borders and charged American Jews were preventing American pressure that would lead to a Mideast peace agreement.

Jewish intellectuals blinded by Obama-mania, fail to see his flaws, Sever Plocker says Full Story
The examination of McPeak's career, undertaken by conservative magazine American Spectator among others, revealed that the general adopted a harsh anti-Israeli line in interviews he submitted to and articles he published. According to the magazine, beyond his affinity for alcohol, which saw him detained for drunk driving a year ago, McPeak also appears to take great pleasure in slamming Israel and pro-Israel Jews.
'Large vote in favor of Israel' In an interview with The Oregonion about five years ago, McPeak argued that the influence exerted by American Jews is responsible for the lack of progress in the Israeli-Palestinian peace process. According to the general the problem was New York and Miami.
"We have a large vote here in favor of Israel. And no politician wants to run against it," he said.
In the same interview, McPeak spoke of his personal experience with Israel.
"I've spent a lot of time in Israel, worked at one time very closely with the Israeli Air Force as a junior officer," he said, "but that's maybe the more cosmopolitan, liberal version of the Israeli population."
McPeak also charged that Jews and Christian Zionists manipulated American foreign policy in Iraq.
The fact that this general is a close advisor to Barak Obama reflects more on the candidate than the advisor.
Not surprising at all to find him working hand in claw with the Democrats now that it's become so terribly fashionable on the left to hate Jews.
Obama could show his good faith in the matter by dragging this bad boy on a chain behind his family SUV.
Liberal Jews would be well advised to pay attention to this. In fact, “everyone” better pay attention to this before, IMO, Osama Hussein Obama accelerates our trip down the road to WWIII.
Hmmm! Obama associates and mentors turn out to be Marxists, anti-Semites, Black racists, and crooks like Rezco. His inclusive rhetoric does not match his list of bedfellows. If this guy isn’t a Manchurian candidate, there isn’t a hog in Arkansas.
I know this is hersey but I am begining to think that creating the Jewish state was a HUGE mistake.
I am just sick of the whole Jewish Arab thing.
John
The cause of the Jewish-Arab thing is Arabs claiming land that they have no historic claim to.
They were living there. We underestimated, better yet, just plain didn’t care at the time the extent of the ill will it would create.
If Jews supported Republicans I could handle it a little better but why put the US in constant threat of War for a bunch of Democrats?
John
We didn't really make the decision.
There has never been an independent Arab state of Palestine. There were Arabs living there, but it was always under the rule of a foreign power.
Jews support Democrats because of their stands on other issues. But that could change this year.
I guess we are lucky that Turkey doesn’t want the entire middle east back since they had to give it up after WW1 for siding with the Germans.
John
That would necessarily include Greece with the Greeks having no legitimate claim to Greece.
What's been going on is that the Ottoman's picked the wrong ally in WWI, Germany, and then Germany lost, more or less, and reparations were exacted from the Ottomans and the Germans.
The Ottomans had been one of America's oldest allies and peaceful trading partners, then they got struck by total stupidness.
"McPeak also charged that Jews and Christian Zionists manipulated American foreign policy in Iraq."<
Sounds like a Jimmy Carter fan.
Turkey wants it back ~ it’s full of oil ~ but they don’t want the people who live there coming with the place.
I was dredging the DUmp for any scuttlebutt on Deval Patrick and found this:
Impending war? Is Israel getting ready?
I heard from my cousins in Poriya Illit, and they have been issued gas masks and have been told to stock their bomb shelter with enough food and water for many weeks.
I've looked through the threads here, and although I'm finding the usual hit and miss fighting, I see nothing pointing to all out war!
Anyone have other news to share? http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=124x206531

And not the first or second advisor holding similar opinions.
I have a question, why does my spell checker insist that I spell advisor, as adviser? Which is it?
I think we (Israel) & America should go our separate ways. Not enemies or with hard feelings or anything, just acknowledgement that we are different countries & our interests are divergent.
Should Syria opt for chemical warheads, well that cost isn't addressed.
Our nation, we need to be prepared, for oil prices, and attacks on our interests in the region.
As to gas masks specifically, I think there was some general concern recently as to the age of most peoples supplies.
Jews are the onlt sane ones in the middle east brutha
RECAP:
Ah the McPeak genius at work here! What a jerk!
Yes, you posted it, I read it.
There’s also a thread where Israel promises to wipe Syria of the map (verbatim) if they use biologicals.
Yitzchak, are things getting warmer over there?
They've never promised that, simply that they'd retaliate with what non-disclosed weapons they have, Israel not having chemical weapons. For Syria, that's a reasonable assumption.
As Hillary said the other night, “You can’t pick your relatives, but you can pick your church (pastor, friends, et al).”
By Jove, I think she actually got something right. Her friends include the Mafia, Communists, Jihadists, and anti-semites, while Obama’s friends only include Rezko (we’ll wait to see if he’s mobbed up), Communists, jihadists, racists and anti-semites.
[See: The American Spectator, April 1997, “Let’s Be Friends: A Mob-Controlled Union Delivers the Goods for Bill”, by Byron York.
Also in this issue is “Tony Lake: Is he Sunk”, by Kenneth Timmerman. Lake is Obama’s top foreign affairs advisor, which means the surrender monkey is advising the “well dressed man”.
We are in deep shit!
I use Mozilla, and it spell checks everything, but you can add additional spellings, if you like.

Israel to Syria: Use chem weapons & we’ll wipe you off map
9/20/07
“Israel to Syria: Use chem weapons and we’ll wipe you off the map.”
What’s wrong with that?
The US told the Japanese the same thing in WW2. I should know; my father was involved in preparing for it (Chemical Warfare Service, Edgewood Arsenal, Md). Saved a lot of American lives, but the Japs used CW on the Chinese, killing thousands of them.
Your history lesson for today is over. Memorize it and never forget it.
Did I say there was anything wrong with that? ;)
I’m itchin for Israel to do take out the trash.
The problem is that if we disengage from our committment to them there would be nothing to stop them from Nuking the entire middle east.
We are conditioned to look at it like we are protecting Israel but its really us protecting the oil fields.
John
On the contrary, I think it should have been bigger, and the arabs should cough up land for the people who think they are from “palestine”.
Really no need to nuke the entire Middle East. All they need is to be undeniably defeated with a very heavy hand & they’ll find excuses to make trouble elsewhere. Arabs are hard to conquer, easy to keep under submission once the deed is done.
Makes sense. Just 'cause you are sick of the "whole thing," the remnants of those who were not killed by the Nazis should have been deprived of a home.
You should be sick of the "whole anti-Semitism thing," and the "whole racism thing."
Instead, you are "sick of" the fact that a country that was attacked five times in five decades by an overwhelming force still survives. If only they died --- you wouldn't be sick any longer, would you?
Home? They could have stayed home in Europe.
John
I believe Russia offered a large patch of land for an autonomous jewish State after WWII. Nobody was fighting over it either.
You are right, Johnny: gas chambers are very comfortable....
Are you just ignorant, Johny, or also callous beyond belief?
Ignorant? After Germany was defeated they shutdown the gas chambers.
John
Europe is probably at least as anti-Semitic now as it was in the 30s and 40s.
We were joking one day about giving Detroit to the Jews (they’re the ONLY ones who could turn it around, but with Dearbornistan, we’d just be creating another ME situation.
this could be a very good thread
{{ but then again , . after the BugZapper Thread , I’ve ratcheted-down my eXXXspectations }}
No, not really, but I have a very limited view.
Our unit is at full force, but we are a counter-battery missle/artillery unit that can get probably just as busy at a limited engagement than a full-fledged invasion.
I do predict, if something happens, it will be a Spring event. It could be Summer, but Spring would give longer clear weather for longer times, which is important for air-guided attacks.
I know everyone here hates the arabs in Gaza, but there really are some good people there (in the minority probably), and the “kill them all” solution is just not something Jews are permitted to do by the Law of God (even though, emotionally, I want to do it, too, I am so sick and tired and train and train and just want to kill them).
You are an idiot.
Ignoring the promises of the Bible(!) for a moment, there were no meaningful numbers arabs in “palestine” until the Jews returned in numbers and made an actual economy.
Before that, the core Jerusalem was primarily religious Jews, still holding on.
All the arabs at issue are just illegal immigrants from Jordan and, to a lesser degree, Eqypt. THEY need to go home.
“I believe Russia offered a large patch of land for an autonomous jewish State after WWII.”
Yes, Uncle Joseph was so trustworthy, never betrayed abyone, and loved Jews much.
His camps killed more Jews than Hitler.
Even all the Jews from Arab countries?
