"..........In any case, they knew well that they would be used as propaganda tools before they left. This is how we put it in a piece on the trip back in October 2002:
EVEN BEFORE the Baghdad boys left Iraq, media outlets throughout the Middle East gleefully highlighted divisions in the U.S. government and the travels by the "antiwar" congressmen. The Iraq Daily, for example, published by Saddam's Ministry of Information, printed daily updates of the trip and posted them in English on their website.
For example, a September 30 report says, "the members of the U.S. Congress delegation has underlined that this visit aims to get acquainted with the truth of Iraq's people sufferings due to ongoing embargo which caused shortage in food and medicine for all Iraqi people." (That article appeared next to a report on Saddam's continuing financial support for the families of Palestinian suicide bombers or, to use the paper's formulation, "intrepid Palestinian uprising martyrs." Also in that issue is an article by American white supremacist Matthew Hale, "Truth About 9-11: How Jewish Manipulation Killed Thousands.")...
So how does it feel to be used as a propaganda tool against your own country? McDermott, who was asked that question by CNN's Jane Arraf when he was still in Baghdad, said it feels fine. "If being used means that we're highlighting the suffering of Iraqi children, or any children, then, yes, we don't mind being used."
Once again? "We don't mind being used."

Gosh Saddam's Ministry of Information was a lot of fun. They're nowhere near as amusing anymore.
It figures that the old regime's MinInf would just totally dig someone like Jim McDermott.
What a freaking POS.
Good G-d! Please, Heavenly Father, please, let his constituents be as sickened with this traitor as the rest of the country and not return him to Congress....
of course they dont mind
they are bush deranged moonbats that sooner believe our enemies than our own President simply because they hate him.
Dont forget democrats want everyone to be treated equally and evryones opinion to matter unless they are republicans
Useful idiots.
If I am an elected Republican officeholder, and I DO NOT use the T words, treason and treachery to describe my outrage, then what does that say about those who are Republican elected officeholders?
I hope you don't mind being used by Bubba, while you in prison for treason.
Now we have you-tube to prove your screaming.
your buddy,

From today’s Seattle Times
Did Iraq’s spy unit pay for McDermott’s trip?

“we’re highlighting the suffering of Iraqi children”
And remind us who wsas in control of Iraq at that time? Saddam Hussein.
As a Washington State resident, I am ashamed of how Jim McDermott has behaved while in Congress. It is beyond belief that he as a ranking member of the Ethics committee would have released private telephone conversations to newspaper reporters and taken money from a dictator who was about to try to kill use soldiers just before war with Iraq. His statement to the CNN report, just cements the fact that this man has no moral fiber in his being.
Now perhaps the most important lesson of the post is his statement about not minding being used. This concept of being used by an enemy of the USA and not minding, is the heart of what is not happening in middle east. The Democrats with their partisan politics and need for firm withdrawal dates, is playing into the hands of an enemy of the USA; and yet the democrats don't care!
McDermott's statement needs to be repeated again and again and then Pelosi, Murtha, and others statements about having lost the war in Iraq and needing to pull out at a specific time need to be put in context of being willingly used by Al Quada.
deep cleansing breath. How these Democrat idiots make my blood pressure skyrocket.
It is Jim McDermott’s Seattle district that is the only place on Earth that has a statue of Russian Communist revolutionary Vladimir Lenin. And the 16 foot statue is loved by its neighbors, almost all McDermott voters.

Pro’ly got a reach-around, then.
