After me, the deluge" (après moi, le déluge) -- popularly attributed to Louis XV
Look for Chris Matthews to start calling her "Louie." The Hardball host was as roiled as Robespierre today at Hillary Clinton's threat to take the Dem party down in a convention credentials fight over the seating of the Florida and Michigan delegates.
In the course of an interview with Greta Van Susteren of Fox News yesterday, Clinton made clear her intention to take things to a floor fight if necessary, and went so far as to pre-emptively undermine Barack Obama's legitimacy as a candidate if he doesn't go along with her proposal to seat the Florida and Michigan delegates. That set Matthews off, though it was panelist Tucker Carlson who supplied the most colorful language, describing Hillary as a "kamikaze" who is "ready to wreck the party."

Apres Hillary le deluge ping to Today show list.
VIVA LA’ CONVENTION RIOT!!!
Operation Chaos on steroids!
If the Republicans had supported a Conservative candidate they could have mopped the floor with the socialist Democrats given the division developing within the latter. Instead the GOP panders to the socialists left and ends up with their own socialist with McCain.
The nastier the Democratic convention the better. Thinking about the best possible outcome under the present circumstances, it would be Hillary stealing the nomination by manipulating Super Delegates, losing to McCain and alienating the Black vote in the process insuring she could never get the nomination again.

“Damnit, Hillary is blocking the tingle up my leg!”
crissy is in luv wit obama. he gets teary eyed when he speaks his name.
I just made a $10 bet that Hillary would get the Dem nomination
When are they ever going to learn? hillary is going to have the nomination and use every dirty trick in the book, and plus some not in the book.
Hillary can speak the truth, if it favors her that is.
roiled as Robespierre ....... good line!
Thanks, dennis: it’s all about the alliteration ;-)
Don't disenfranchise voters. [Florida and Michigan]
Do disenfranchise voters. [My super delegates need to override Obama's popular vote]
intentional?
...as the surviving candidate...

Her Heinous

Her Heinous

In this Monday March 25, 1996 file picture, first lady Hillary Rodham Clinton kisses Emina Bicakcic, 8, from Sarajevo who dedicated a poem to her shortly after her arrival at the Tuzla Air Base. Mrs. Clinton's daughter Chelsea, left, accompanies her on their one-day visit to the U.S. troops stationed in Bosnia. Clinton says she made a mistake in claiming that she came under hostile fire when landing in Bosnia as first lady 12 years ago

And the star of the show --Huma
Looks like Hillary’s after some of that Huma....look at her eyes.
Yeah, too bad Republicans don’t have one of those primary deals where people vote for a nominee.
Gee, Hillary is acting like a woman posessed.
I mean, seriously, if she actually BECOMES the next president, I am going to have to do some more study of revelation, Daniel, Ezekiel, etc. regarding that “beast” thing.
This foaming-at-the-mouth “I will be the candidate or you’ll all go down with me” scorched earth thing is mind bogglingly narcissistic and rabidly unreasonable.
Like I said, she is acting like a woman POSESSED.
I’ve heard Humass is pretty good. Isn’t thay a Middle Eastern delicacy?
Hell No! Its time Democraps get a serious taste of their own medicine. They screwed us with McCain, and now we have one of a very few opportunities to really destroy their party for pay back! VIVA RUSH! VIVA OPERATION CHAOS!
After watching John McCain’s speech yesterday, I can honestly admit that the only joy I can get out of this election cycle is if Hillary implements the “Tonya Harding option” on the entire Dem party.
they wanted hillary now they have her, she is a nasty one isn’t she
Rye-it, rye-it, toe-gah, toe-gah
What is that odd bulge on Huma’s thigh?
While I've been salivating at that prospect, the flip side of it has started to intrigue me of late. I can see the feminazi DLC wing of the DemonRat party trying to go all the way to the convention, thinking that they can unseat Obama from front runner status, then being very bitterly disappointed when their tricks don't work.
If the Beest is to get another bite of the apple, it would have to come in 2012, and they probably will see McCain as quite weak during a first term. I can see realistic reasons why they would vote third party just to deny Obama the chance at having eight straight years, since even they think he'd be a more effective president than McCain.
The only time in the last forty years that the Rats have been able to win the White House is when they figured out how to combine the gimme-gimme far left with a DLC'er from the South. If those two factions divorce each other for a generation, the whole country would benefit from it. Vote Hillary wherever possible, FRiends! We need to minimize the time Barry O has to make kumbayah within his party.

So true. Sad but true. Captain Queeg is a lousy candidate. He is liberal on tax hikes, immigration, campaign finance, and a host of other things. He’s made it clear that he hates the GOP, yet the establishment still anointed him despite the presence of more qualified rivals. He should be going down to defeat in flames. Only the spectacle of the hapless Hussein and Hitlery beating on each other has saved him. I still wont vote for him. I cannot vote for a liberal, even if he says he is a Republican. I hope Captain Queeg loses so we can throw away the GOP and start a Conservative Party in order to elect candidates in 2010 and 2012.
At some point and that point is soon approaching, Democrats all the way down the ticket from US Senator to local dog catcher are going to realize that this intra-party nastiness will negatively affect their chances for re-election.
There are a LOT of swing districts that could easily swing back to GOP if there are even a few thousand disgusted DEM voters who go GOP or stay home.
Chris Dodd alluded to as much today when he said that party leaders needed to step in soon and get this settled. He knows there are a lot of cronies whose jobs will be on the line if this squabble extends all the way to the convention and beyond.
Who is brave enough in the DEM party to go to Hill and Bill and tell them it’s over - get lost? I nominate Kennedy.
Hehehe...
It is simply not acceptable for a major political party to disenfranchise its delegates from two major states, leaving party members in those states with no voice in the Presidential nomination. Something has to be done to give those members representation.
It is not an answer to say the candidates knew the "rules." This isn't a candidate issue, its a voter issue. A "rule" that results in American citizens and registered voters having no say in their party's nomination process should not be a valid rule.
Now that their legislators have ruled out a "do-over" I don't know what the answer is, but they need to do something. Dean and the party leaders should never have been so dumb as to paint themselves into this corner.
It could be an ugly convention and if they don't fix this problem, it should be.
The Kamikaze attack by the Hillery! Cherry Blossom squadron lead by Baka Rodham still won’t hold off the chosen one.
He is positively annointed.
Nice to see that Demorat “UNITY”.
Watcha call a twofer.
Made a five dollar bet yesterday that neither the Witch nor BHO get the nomination. And no it is not an open bet.
Herself, the Broad and Wicked, is just makin’ friends left and right.
AW.
Hillary can speak the truth only if a lie doesn't help her more.
I have said the same thing for long time about the possibility of Gore “saving the day” for the Dems.....truly a nightmare!
keeper
I would lean to Gore as their choice but it is just a feeling. Anyone that thinks the “Party Elders” can get the Witch to step aside is out of their minds.
As much as I wish otherwise, if Obama arrives at the convention with more delegates and popular vote he will win. I do not see the Democrats as so stupid that they will destroy the party for Hillary Clinton's benefit.
Another Upside possibility is that as Hillary trys to go against the delegate count and popular vote she will damage herself fatally. She isn't Nixon, she won't come back, too many people hate her ass and that will get worse with a convention floor fight.
Thinking about the best possible outcome under the present circumstances, it would be Hillary stealing the nomination by manipulating Super Delegates, losing to McCain and alienating the Black vote in the process insuring she could never get the nomination again.
I think it would be just as well if McCain nominated a black conservative VP who belongs to an integrated church. That would guarantee the nomination of Obama by the Democratic convention - and that would guarantee a blowout anti-Wright vote. The existence of a black on the Republican ticket would negate any white guilt in voting against Obama, who would be reduced to his black racist base - a blowout of historic proportions. The Democratic Party would have to go into dry dock. Of course, the fact that a President McCain would be nearly as bad as a Democrat would cause a powerful and perhaps successful primary challenge in '12, leading to a complete political realignment in America.
Good for Hillary!. I’m proud of her and behind her 100%! She deserves the Democrat nomination! She has a right to it! She should be the Democrat nominee! She should fight tooth and nail for it and NEVER give up! Only Hillary! can lead this country in the right direction!
(May I please have some more popcorn?)
I agree. Penn. conservative should vote for O. That would keep it close and not let Hil get a mandate of sorts. but I am still ticked at what they did to what they did to their splendid ex senator.
The States were told what would happen if they moved their primaries up and they did it anyway.
I have no sympathy for them as life just ain't full of do overs.
No, it doesn't.
There are consequences to breaking rules, as all adults need to learn.
