Hardball: 'Kamikaze' Hillary Ready to Wreck the Party
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

After me, the deluge" (après moi, le déluge) -- popularly attributed to Louis XV

Look for Chris Matthews to start calling her "Louie." The Hardball host was as roiled as Robespierre today at Hillary Clinton's threat to take the Dem party down in a convention credentials fight over the seating of the Florida and Michigan delegates.

In the course of an interview with Greta Van Susteren of Fox News yesterday, Clinton made clear her intention to take things to a floor fight if necessary, and went so far as to pre-emptively undermine Barack Obama's legitimacy as a candidate if he doesn't go along with her proposal to seat the Florida and Michigan delegates. That set Matthews off, though it was panelist Tucker Carlson who supplied the most colorful language, describing Hillary as a "kamikaze" who is "ready to wreck the party."

Yeah, too bad Republicans don’t have one of those primary deals where people vote for a nominee.

It's time for Operation Chaos to change direction and support Obama in Pennsylvania. If Hillary wins big in PA., she'll claim she has a mandate and should be the nominee. If Obama wins, or comes close, Hillary will discount the results as evidence of the “Rush Factor” (which Barack will vehemently deny.) Either way, Hillary is not turning back at this point.Obama will be much easier to beat in the general election.

Gee, Hillary is acting like a woman posessed.

I mean, seriously, if she actually BECOMES the next president, I am going to have to do some more study of revelation, Daniel, Ezekiel, etc. regarding that “beast” thing.

This foaming-at-the-mouth “I will be the candidate or you’ll all go down with me” scorched earth thing is mind bogglingly narcissistic and rabidly unreasonable.

Like I said, she is acting like a woman POSESSED.

Hell No! Its time Democraps get a serious taste of their own medicine. They screwed us with McCain, and now we have one of a very few opportunities to really destroy their party for pay back! VIVA RUSH! VIVA OPERATION CHAOS!

After watching John McCain’s speech yesterday, I can honestly admit that the only joy I can get out of this election cycle is if Hillary implements the “Tonya Harding option” on the entire Dem party.

Thinking about the best possible outcome under the present circumstances, it would be Hillary stealing the nomination by manipulating Super Delegates, losing to McCain and alienating the Black vote in the process insuring she could never get the nomination again.

While I've been salivating at that prospect, the flip side of it has started to intrigue me of late. I can see the feminazi DLC wing of the DemonRat party trying to go all the way to the convention, thinking that they can unseat Obama from front runner status, then being very bitterly disappointed when their tricks don't work.

If the Beest is to get another bite of the apple, it would have to come in 2012, and they probably will see McCain as quite weak during a first term. I can see realistic reasons why they would vote third party just to deny Obama the chance at having eight straight years, since even they think he'd be a more effective president than McCain.

The only time in the last forty years that the Rats have been able to win the White House is when they figured out how to combine the gimme-gimme far left with a DLC'er from the South. If those two factions divorce each other for a generation, the whole country would benefit from it. Vote Hillary wherever possible, FRiends! We need to minimize the time Barry O has to make kumbayah within his party.

So true. Sad but true. Captain Queeg is a lousy candidate. He is liberal on tax hikes, immigration, campaign finance, and a host of other things. He’s made it clear that he hates the GOP, yet the establishment still anointed him despite the presence of more qualified rivals. He should be going down to defeat in flames. Only the spectacle of the hapless Hussein and Hitlery beating on each other has saved him. I still wont vote for him. I cannot vote for a liberal, even if he says he is a Republican. I hope Captain Queeg loses so we can throw away the GOP and start a Conservative Party in order to elect candidates in 2010 and 2012.

At some point and that point is soon approaching, Democrats all the way down the ticket from US Senator to local dog catcher are going to realize that this intra-party nastiness will negatively affect their chances for re-election.

There are a LOT of swing districts that could easily swing back to GOP if there are even a few thousand disgusted DEM voters who go GOP or stay home.

Chris Dodd alluded to as much today when he said that party leaders needed to step in soon and get this settled. He knows there are a lot of cronies whose jobs will be on the line if this squabble extends all the way to the convention and beyond.

Who is brave enough in the DEM party to go to Hill and Bill and tell them it’s over - get lost? I nominate Kennedy.

Hehehe...

I'm serious here, not being part of Operation Chaos.

It is simply not acceptable for a major political party to disenfranchise its delegates from two major states, leaving party members in those states with no voice in the Presidential nomination. Something has to be done to give those members representation.

It is not an answer to say the candidates knew the "rules." This isn't a candidate issue, its a voter issue. A "rule" that results in American citizens and registered voters having no say in their party's nomination process should not be a valid rule.

Now that their legislators have ruled out a "do-over" I don't know what the answer is, but they need to do something. Dean and the party leaders should never have been so dumb as to paint themselves into this corner.

It could be an ugly convention and if they don't fix this problem, it should be.

Hillary can speak the truth, if it favors her that is.

Hillary can speak the truth only if a lie doesn't help her more.
