Iraq: bombing of the coalition against Shiite militiamen

BASSORAH (Iraq) - The aircraft of the coalition under American command in Iraq have spoken for the first time since the outbreak of fighting in Basra by bombarding the positions of Shiite militiamen in the night from Thursday to Friday, according to a spokesman for British military .

Two bombing missions were conducted, said to AFP command Tom Holloway. They have targeted groups of gunmen with rockets and concentrations of Shiite militiamen in Basra, the southern city where fighting between militiamen to Iraqi regular troops since March 25.

US helicopter gunships also raided Hilla. This is a major conflict, and spreading.
