That’s b/c he is the dumbest guy in the Senate. He pokes his head up once in a while, says something really stupid (and liberal: the two are related) and then goes back into hiding. He was the State Treasurer and was AWOL half the time then too. His father was a well liked governor of PA and that was apparently enough for the people of PA b/c that is all the guy has. He took Santorum’s Senate seat last election which tells you something about politics in PA. It’s a good thing that he is seldom heard from.

It’s nothing new. Even Gloria Steinem got her start in the 1960s writing funny captions (to largely political photos) for Harvey Kurtzman’s Help Magazine (established after he left Mad Magazine which he founded).
