The Drug Enforcement Administration is losing more guns but fewer laptops than it was about five years ago, the Justice Department's inspector general said Friday.
< >
The majority of stolen guns had been left in an official's car, despite a policy prohibiting leaving a weapon unattended in a vehicle. The report cited examples of guns stolen from cars parked outside restaurants, hotels, schools and gyms. Some agents had their guns taken from their cars while they were shopping or getting coffee. One firearm was stolen while the car was at the body shop.

Thye should be made to pay for em right before they are fired! You might think that something more would be done. It's obvious that there is nothing new about the problem.

I’d like to see the full accounting, then charge the DEA with criminal negligence and divulge all the crimes that were committed with these LE weapons, to encourage the victims/families to sue the individual and the DEA.
This is pure garbarge!

Well there goes the the gun banner’s theory that all crooks are buying their guns down at your local licensed dealer or that the LE should be the only ones with firearms because criminals may take them away from a regular citizen.

Or sic the BATFEces on 'em and sit back.

And naturally not one bureaucrat lost his job over this. What do we expect? Not one got fired over 9-11. Why should we expect more from the most ineffective federal agency in history?

But but, only professional law enforcement officers should have guns! You’re 50369734968306 times more likely to kill your goldfish than a pair of criminals if you have a gun in the home!

Such a cavalier attitude regarding weapons is unforgiveable.
But then, they don’t have all the hassles the ordinary citizen does when they need a replacement and can safely take for granted their RKBA.

The report cited examples of guns stolen from cars parked outside restaurants, hotels, schools and gyms. I'm surprised. These are all places where I'm forbidden to take a gun. Do those restrictions apply to our masters as well as to us?

Or the guns were never stolen at all but found their way onto the black market or into private collections.

This is probably a good thing. At least nobody’s personal data is stored on the agent’s service pistol.
