Go to Google....and see what they have done. Google will not post any graphics during the religious holidays like Palm Sunday or Easter and Christmas...yet this morning they have darkened the screen to save the Earth.
A bunch of Earth worshippers...

Still 75/25... Probably those participating have already turned off their computers, so they don’t forget... But does it count if you use an iPhone to vote? Man, I love liberal quandaries.

A plan to cut down on 0.000114 of annual electricity.
I guess a journey of a 1,000 miles starts with a single step.

I’ll be participating...by turning on every light, TV and computer in the house. Might be a good time to do some laundry, too.

Yes, I will.
I’ll have every computer in the house, 3 big screen LCD TVs, all the house lights, electric heaters and a heating pad going.
[I may even turn on the AC to offset the heaters, depending on how warm it is, tomorrow night]
Hubby will no doubt be out in the shop welding, as well.
I also intend to let the Yukon idle in the drive way for an hour.
[No one can say I’m not doing *my* part]....:)

I just read on Google this “event” is supposed to happen tomorrow between 8:00pm and 9:00pm in one’s local time zone, which for me would put it during the 2nd half of the No. Carolina vs. Louisville “Elite 8” matchup. ....So lol...yeah right. The lights and big screen TV will be on and the beer fridge will be opening and closing.

Kerosene heaters on high. Lights blazing. TV on. Natural gas furnace at a comfortable 70F. And obviously the PC, scanner, printer, monitor, and the battery backup recharging. Later i’ll fire up the V-10 pickup and go up north to chainsaw trees to burn back home. Another good day. How soon will I get my Nobel prize?

Keeping fire departments busy putting out resultant house/apartment fires.

My wife and I have decided to go much farther in electrical conservation. Every evening, we plan to turn off all of the lights in our house for six to eight hours. We will pass these "Earth hours" sleeping.
We'll do our part.

I will turn on everything I own, open every window, and let the cars run in the driveway all while shaking my fist at the sky and screaming:
"TAKE THAT AL GORE!"
as I fart and belch profusely.
So pretty much a typical day around here.

I will be joining you with every light and appliance on this house. Maybe I need all three cars running with headlights on to help these looney tunes see? Hell, maybe I should turn on lanterns, start up the riding mower with lights on,too?
I had never heard of this. My wife had never heard of it either.

Actually, people are encouraged to do laundry at this time because it’s off peak and demand on the grid is low.
I think the point of this exercise is to encourage people to turn off lights when they are not needed. What’s all the hostility to that? It’s completely harmless. Now, with the move to ban incandescant bulbs, promote ethanol, etc., that’s a different matter. Those are actually more harmful to the environment - not to mention the economy - than not using electricity for lighting buildings with nobody in them.
I’m saving my venom for defeating the leftist America-haters running for president.
