A public alert was issued early this evening by Buffalo Police, warning that a gang could be staging rear-end collisions tonight on area roadways and then attacking drivers as part of an initiation ritual.
Commissioner H. McCarthy Gipson called an emergency news conference at police headquarters just before 6:30 p.m. to make the announcement.
He said police received "credible information" late this afternoon suggesting that the initiation ritual could involve gang member recruits intentionally causing rear-end collisions and then robbing or assaulting the other driver.
Gipson suggested motorists be aware of their surroundings. If they do become involved in a rear-end collision, he suggested they drive to a well-lit area and immediately call 9-1-1 from a cellular telephone, if they have one. Gipson also suggested motorists stay in their vehicles and continue moving until police arrive.
The Central American gang involved is considered "very well armed" and dangerous. It has a history of violence in other parts of the country but is new to the Buffalo area, Gipson said.
"This is the first time we've heard of this gang making inroads into the area," Gipson said.
Gipson wouldn't provide the name of the gang so as not to give the gang "notoriety."
The gang is known to the FBI to be involved in violent activities such as murder, robbery, assault and extortion, as well as increasing involvement in retail theft, home invasions, burglaries and narcotics trafficking, according to FBI officials in North Carolina concerning the threat of the gang there in 2006.

The gang would be proving series bravery if they staged this in Alaska where it is safe to assume every motor vehicle is armed.
I would think this "central American gang" is targeting easy prey. The old and females because Buffalo is a depressed economy and the takings are pretty slim.
And yet we still argue about the border.
There was a similar report involving a California town just a couple of days ago on FR. Have there been any reports of actual incidents, or is this just another urban legend making the rounds?
Getting killed in a staged rear end collision, home invasion, etc.. Just one of the many hidden costs of “cheap labor” and “multi-cultural” society’s suicidal tendencies. It was a nice country while it lasted. Take a look at South Africa and see what’s coming here at breakneck speed.
In a sane society, the announcement would go like this:
“Gangs are staging rear-end collisions as part of an initiation ritual. Motorists are asked to clean their firearms and make sure that their guns are easily accessible in case of trouble from these hoodlums. If there is trouble, please call 911 following the incident, and do not touch the bodies until the ambulance arrives at the scene. You may purchase the needed ammo at your nearest WalMart, where they have low prices every day!”

Anyone else notice that the story neglects to comment on the subject of the legal status of these people?

It would be safe to say that the gang in question would be none other than MS-13.
We can thank our filthy politicians for this wonderful gang of scumbags who come across our border with impunity. I hope the first car they hit belongs to a politician who supports illegal immigration.

I had something like this happen to me once a number of years ago while I was driving out of NYC on the Major Deegan with a friend.
A car with two or three young black guys in it passed me, pulled in front of me, and then slammed on the brakes. I didn’t have enough room to avoid a collision by braking, but I fortunately turned the wheel hard left and managed to get by them that way. My reflexes are pretty good because I did some sports car racing when I was much younger.
I don’t think it was a gang initiation. I think it was an insurance scam. If you hit a car from behind, your insurance company will pay. But it was a pretty scary moment.
Heavens forbid that we should discriminate against these violent Latino gangs by guarding our borders.

This story is completly true. In Miami my fahter was rearended by a car full of blacks. It was just a tap and my father was pulling over when he saw the “blood vessel” was packed with young men. He stepped on it and they chased him for a few blocks until he drove by the police station.
Intentional rear-ends are common in Los Angeles. Well, you read about them now and then. I don’t know if it is our home-grown thugs or imported. Just drive on ....

This recently happened on a go-cart track near here where several of the karts were bumped from behind, sometimes off the track, and the gangsters doing the bumping then went on to win the race.
The pack the vehicles full of passengers and every one claims injury. These rear end collisions can result in tens of thousands of dollars for the occupants, corrupt attorneys and chiropractors.
Many times the illegal aliens and others have connections to totally corrupt attorneys and chiropractors, and all the alleged injured go to the same doctors and attorneys.
Many times each one of the injured goes to one appointment at their corrupt chiropractor, and then the chiropractor signs them in himself for the next 20 visits or appointments, (they never even show up) and the corrupt chiropractor charges the poor guys insurance company for every visit...The fraud just goes on and on.

Very good point. Sometimes with these urban legends some nitwit says “hahaha it would be funny to put syringes in a payphone slot like I herd about in that email” and you end up with a self fulfilling prophecy.
I know the streets and know all about the shenanigans that go on, but in this case with the “gang collision” scenario it is the result of trolls* spreading disinfo. * note that is not directed at the OP.
