Can I say I’m in the dark about the question?
Lined up all the gas powered stuff and ran the Winter items dry and got the Spring ones running. Took the big boat our to Pyramid and ran the Pi$$ out it for an hour and then filled it up with gas.
Did they turn on all their lights at 8:00 pm?
All our inside and outside lights were on. Usually we leave our outside lights off at night as they are so bright they light up the neighborhood and we don't want to bother our neighbors.
But we have a next door neighbor (a flamin' Kalifornia Liberal retired college perfesser) who keeps his yard lit up like the Midway with hundreds of white lights strung from his gazebo, light strings on his bushes and trees, and his half dozen self-installed street lights blazing away all over his front and back yards.
Frankly, it's terribly annoying to us at times. We have complained but they are oblivious and still leave them on often until very late. They enjoy them when they bask in their hot tub just after dark but usually leave them on until they go to bed. They are annoying, loud neighbors and we don't get along real well as you could probably guess.
Anyhow, as our two tree hugger neighbors (including this one) turned all their lights off between 8 and 9 - except for some tiny interior ones - we helped to light their way for the hour. Our house looked like Wrigley Field at a night game and their yards were lit up as well. I doubt they knew we possessed so many lights!
Anyhow, it was wonderful. But our neighbors have not spoken to us all day. I suppose we'll get over it.
Incidentally, I just checked his back yard. His lights are off tonight.
*smirk* (see my tag line: it's true around my neighborhood!)
I did my part. Turned on everything electrical that I owned. In the house, camper, and outbuildings. Then I took a long shower and used plenty of hot water.
We have a winner!!
LOL!
“Did the local fire department WASTE any energy on you? I sure hope not!”
As a matter of fact, they used the new algore approved pedal-powered fire engine. It only took them 2 hours to get to our house after the fire broke out. We were having such a good time, we didn’t care!
Now thats funny right there.
I LOLed.
I read an article about some 400 people in (I think) Seattle that drove out to see a ceremony of the lights going out in the town square.
Then they compared....if they all had stayed home and watched TV for that hour instead of drive out there, they would have had like 20% less carbon. HAHAHAHA.
