Unlike Good Hair and the Tough Grandma, KBH has been a Republican insider going back to the 1960s. She just represents an element with a different interest than the conservative base.

Rick Perry was a Democrat in the Reagan era. He became a Republican when it became politically rewarding in Texas to do so.

IMO, Perry is still a Democrat.

Kay Bailey, OTOH, was a Republican BEFORE it was popular in Texas to be a Republican.

I was there... and we didn't have a lot of company. We met in an old fire station on Westheimer across the street from the Galleria.
