Have a look at the screencap from today's This Week, then please answer this serious question: has ABC no shame? How does the network justify a round-table consisting of four liberals against one conservative?
Let's review the batting order:
* Frank Reich: Clinton's former Labor Secretary comes from the leftward reaches of the Dem party. He's a co-founder of the liberal American Prospect magazine. * Paul Krugman: Like Reich, a very liberal professor of economics, and a NYT columnist. * Donna Brazile: Dem activist, Gore 2000 campaign manager. * George Stephanopoulos: The show host was a senior political adviser to Bill Clinton's 1992 presidential campaign and later became Clinton's communications director. * George Will: conservative columnist and [since we're talking batter order and this is Opening Day after all] baseball aficionado.

This Week stacks deck against Will ping to Today show list.
Was wondering if NewsBusters was going to post this. When I first tuned in I thought they had maybe added a conservative or a republican to balance things out a little. When I figured out that it was Krugman . . . it was like, WTH!
ABC, you suck.
I saw this. If I didn’t know better, I would think Krugman was on drugs. He had this wild eyed stare and once when Will was talking, he put his face in his hands.
Good write up, Mark.
My impression of Krugman is that he ought to be under a doctor’s care. He just does not look “okay.”
Hmmm, seems we both had pretty much the same reaction to Krugman.
“Frank Reich”?
Any relation to Robert Reich?
Government pressure to ‘extend the American dream to everyone’ + greedy lenders = disaster
I am no economist by any stretch, but it surely seems that economic political correctness is at the root of this mess.
This is new? It's been going on with the MSM and PBS as long as I can remember. I'll never forget one memorable PBS panel that was mustered to discuss the "new" phenomenon of conservative talk radio back in the early 90s. The unmentioned subject was Rush, of course, and every single radio talker on the panel was full-bore liberal. That's "balance" as the Rats see it. All opposing ideas and speech must be suppressed.
Sorry about that. I’m a Buffalo Bills fan and had Bob confused with Frank Reich, the back-up QB who led perhaps the greatest comeback ever in NFL history, against the Houston Oilers in the 1992 playoffs ;-)
3:1 is nothing new, but 4:1 might be a new record for lopsidedness.
The thing is: George Will still kicks their collective ass.
Well done, Mark!
Krugman needs to go off or try new meds- he’s not well.
Heck, I'd sat the odds are still in our favor.
A
Bunch of
Crap
GEORGE WILL: What is mysterious, what is mysterious about the phrase "variable rate"?
KRUGMAN: It's, it's --
ROBERT REICH: There was predatory lending.
WILL: Define it.
REICH: The fact of the matter is --
WILL: Define it.
That is shameful, but pretty fair...
4 liberal minds vs. 1 conservative is generally a pretty fair battle.
To stay liberal one has to remain in a constant state of denial and, as you can see, it really gets to some of them.
BTW, Krugman has been calling for a recession for seven years now, constantly. How he has any credibility as an economist is beyond me.
