The tiny beach town of Capitola, Calif., is buzzing about a mysterious object that appears to have been photographed on May 16 of last year. Someone using the name Raji posted images on the Web site Craigslist, answered a few questions from UFO hunters around the world, and then just disappeared into cyberspace.

I’m not an expert on photography, so maybe those here who are can explain this pic.
FYI
It’s a fake. That “ship” has been posted around the internet in various locales for quite some time now.
It’s fake.
CG image composited.
Maybe Lightwave.
Indicator needle from an hygrometer. Not all that big, but toss it in the air and photograph it and you have your UFO.
Looks like a protestant apparition of some kind.
I’m not an expert either. But I don’t see how that thing could fly. So I’m leaning toward FAKE.
Debunked as a fake...sources tell yield 2 the right....
He only took one picture? Hard to believe although it the best photo of a “UFO” that I’ve seen. Or maybe it’s a UPO for “Unidentified Photographed Object.”
Some pretty convincing evidence was presented on the History Channel that it was a hoax photo.
Well, that is all the credentials I need.

Seems to be the epicenter of this tale.
If anyone has links to sites that debunk it,
I’d suggest posting them here early, to
forestall another shaggy dog thread.
The UFO is real but that utility pole is obviously faked. It displays typical Ukranian wiring. I’d explain but I’ve got to run.
There is video available, though I cannot recall the addy to access it on the Web. One of the best frauds in quite some time now.
It’s CGI. Fake. Stupid. Blarney.
Okay, who let Dennis Kucinich have craigslist access again?
“Oh goodie, another eranium pu36 explosive space modulator, isn’t that wonderful, now we can blow up the earth!”
I wouldn’t be so sure. If pilotless flying “drones” are ready to be deployed for police work, just imagine the prototypes now being tested:

it looks like something escaped from the Matrix again...

And these are cellphone cam shots from Lake Tahoe:

Whooooooooo knows???
A UFO with Japanese characters (Katakana) on the bottom. Sheesh! If they really wanted people to think it was a UFO, they should have removed the writing. Idiots.
Let me assure you — that if that “object” really appeared in the sky over my favorite little beach town in broad daylight as photographed — this entire part of Kalifornicate would have heard about it ———— and no one I know has..
Fake... No question about it.
THINK folks — if you had that picture and no one else did - would YOU post it free on “Craigs List”..
Hell no - you’d shop it for millions to the networks.
Maybe they should try the poles along the train tracks that run through the middle of town.

That’s no UFO, it’s an IUD used for elephants
Looking the sky like that, all you would see is a sillouette.
People named Raji are probably lying to you.
Are UFO’s real, are there parallel universes, will we bomb Iran, when will the wave function about my promotion collapse, does Bell’s theorem undermine notions of locality and the speed of light (yes), when will the Cubs win, will I get a date for the prom (OK, thats pretty certain) etc.
Who knows?
Nobody knows for sure.
It’s all based on probability. Small to large; particle to wave.
Sad for us, it seems probable that disinterested chance trumps free will every time. I think that’s a fundamental lesson of quantum mechanics, probably.
Somewhat more to the point (not that anyone probably cares): I think it’s probable that sentient beings exist in our universe in addition to us. Just the sheer mind-boggling numbers and the recent realization that planetary systems are the norm for almost a countless number of stars of a certain type or at a certain evolution, suggests baseball, or its cousin, probably ain’t limited to Earth.
I think it is improbable those conscious beings have visited us or that they are observing us. Two basic reasons: 1. the distances between us are too great; and 2. cultures probably self destruct before they learn to exploit wormholes or other means to conquer the distance.
But probability theory necessarily negates a zero % chance. So, who knows, maybe.
I bet most, close to all, of the unexplained UFOs are military.
The picture of the craft in this thread looks pathetically fake to me.
I would be interested to meet the guys who fly that contraption, though.
Looks like a kitchen utensil. I just can’t figure out how they got the thing to fly.
Pinging the list...
More hard of thinking idiots duped again by a clever Photoshop.
Shows over, nothing to see here, move along folks.......
Fake. Chuck Norris’s oil filter wrench.
This one is so bad it got voted off the Art Bell Show.
Good one!
Looks like a ceiling fan.
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHhhh We’re being invaded by a giant thermometer/Statue of Liberty Crown/6 pronged lookin thing-a-ma-bobber!
That was my first thought.
It is some kind of new combine organotechno weapon.
Take it out with the rpg
I’m not sure if this one is a fraud but I think it does demonstrate how hard it is to capture such objects on film.

The object seems stable from a distance but trying to zoom in, it’s nearly impossible to stay in focus and keep the camera still. The guy who shot this one complained that even the pulse in his hand contributed to the movement of the camera.
Later and as luck would have it, someone thought to grab a tripod a little too late.
I thought that video would be of some interest in this thread.
IIRC, the ATS thread about such is several HUNDRED PAGES long . . . with ATS experts on such assuring early on with explanations why
how it was CGI hoaxed . . . computer graphics . . .
What’s still not clear to me . . . is the diversity of sources in different parts of the country . . . unless it was at least a slightly complex hoax involving a fair number of people.
Best game ever!
“What’s still not clear to me . . . is the diversity of sources in different parts of the country . . . unless it was at least a slightly complex hoax involving a fair number of people.”
Have you seen the drone photo from Birmingham, Ala. in the 70’s? Whoever did this was a genius.
There is a couple of former law enforcement officers turned PI who are looking for the lightpole in said photo. Their tab is being paid for my one of the organizations you are familiar with, but I can’t remember the name but remember you posting a link with the name in it. The contact at the org. paying the PI’s is female I think if that helps.
That is the dumbest looking UFO photo I have ever seen, and I have seen plenty of them!
these are NOT the same thing... the one on the left has three big spikes six small ones where the one on the right has four large and no small at all.
I don’t recall, for sure.
