“Public Schools are to education, what public housing is to housing.”

Very true, excepet only a small portion of society lives in public housing.

Perhaps it’s because the parents and everyone else they’ve known attended public schools, as well, and can’t imagine that it can be done in any other way.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Sometimes it is better for a child to receive NO education whatsoever that attend these government cesspools. I seriously mean this!

This is evidently one of those times!

If parents of bullied children continue to send their children to school what lessons are they teaching this child?

1) That the parents are too dumb to know what pain he is suffering?

2) That the second job, bigger house, newer car, etc., is more important than he is?

3) That his parents value their free time and the free babysitting more than they do his safety?

4) That the parents are too stupid to teach basic reading, math, and social studies?

And... For all the children who aren't being bullied, they live in fear that they will be singled out as the next victim!

Is it any wonder that parents sometimes complain of a generation gap or having children that don't communicate with them? The kids learned long ago, “Why bother?”

Years ago teachers (male) would take the pukes out back for a little “chat” to keep them in line from picking on the smaller classmates.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Years ago there were fathers and uncles who did this. Now kids grow up in father-less homes.

ANOTHER REASON TO HOMESCHOOL

This ping list is for the “other” articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. If you want on/off this list, please freepmail me. The main Homeschool Ping List by DaveLoneRanger handles the homeschool-specific articles. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list.

you engage in child abuse as far as I’m concerned.

Uh oh! The government school defenders are going to “feel” **personally** insulted. :-)

The kid should have been taken for medical evaluation IMMEDIATELY after a fall down the stairs, even with no apparent injuries. Any medical professional should know that internal injuries can occur that aren’t immediately obvious.

What is it with these school nurses anyway?

The bill can be in the millions. By the way, I met a guy who was in a car wreck, thought he was okay, started walking away, and then collapsed. He’s a paraplegic.

It says he went to the school nurse. As far as witnesses, the kids who did it aren’t going to admit it. Unless someone happened to go by at that instance and saw it, there’s just no proof either way.

I would think that there would be a log of the boys trip to the nurse. In my daughter's school there is rule that there must be a log of when a child is sent to the nurse. Time she went in & the time she went back to class. So it shouldn't be too hard to tell if the child went to the nurse unless they've lost the log. Both the teacher & nurse would know or should know. I however do not trust school nurses, I have dealt with really good ones but this years nurse is a total nitwit. However she finally convinced my husband to home school so I should thank her.

Prayers for the boy & his family. I hope the truth comes out about this story because there are some odd things about it.

A son of a friend was attacked by gang of thugs in his school hallway. They BROKE his femur. The parents did press charges and the youth were found guilty. However,,,They were placed on probation and sent to a different school. (I suppose so they could terrorize children in the new school.)

Anyway,,,The parents returned him to school. Their reasoning was that he was in the gifted and talented program and had a chance for admission to a prestigious college and scholarships.

Well...What lesson did these parents teach their son?

Answer: That his scholarship and his admission to a prestigious was more important to them their son's safety.

Geeze! And,,,Parents wonder why there is a “generation” gap? They wonder why kids have more allegiance to their peer group than to their parents?

Hey! Kids KNOW that their parents KNOW that their government school is a cesspool, and these kids KNOW that their parents are doing **NOTHING** to rescue them. Real protection rests **not** with the adults in their lives but with their peer group or clique. What is a clique anyway? It is nothing but a prison protection gang.

I heard about this story this morning. Really not funny at all.

When I worked as an instructional assistant I followed four boys who were bullying other children during recess. They hated me when I put them on the wall for a time out.

When they tried to bully me, I promptly used the walkie talkie I had and asked for someone to come out and escort them to the office to see the principal.

Sad end to the story, however, about a month later )I was not working at that school at the time.) a child was killed at that time by four students. Even though they were not identified in the newspaper, I instantly knew who they were.
