Some Teens Also Believe Mountain Dew Will Stop Pregnancy
ORLANDO, Fla. -- A recent survey that found some Florida teens believe drinking a cap of bleach will prevent HIV and a shot of Mountain Dew will stop pregnancy has prompted lawmakers to push for an overhaul of sex education in the state.
The survey showed that Florida teens also believe that smoking marijuana will prevent a person from getting pregnant.
State lawmakers said the myths are spreading because of Florida's abstinence-only sex education, Local 6 reported.
They are proposing a bill that would require a more comprehensive approach, the report said.
It would still require teaching abstinence but students would also learn about condoms and other methods of birth control and disease prevention.
The bill just passed its first vote in a committee, Local 6 reported.
Darwinism in Action.
I take these are the teens that are not going on to college.
I am so proud of mah peeps! O-TOWN FLORIDA REPRESENTIN! PING
The genius of American Youth. Next thing you know, they’ll be voting.
so none of these morons know how to read?
I will go one futher. If you have HIV and you drink enough bleach, it will keep it from turning into AIDS...again, permanently.
If they drink enough of it, it certainly will prevent HIV.
Yeah good one people of FL, *rolling my eyes*
The straight bleach will kill you before you even contact the HIV virus, Hello???!!!
And Pot will keep ya from getting preggers, yeah ok, whatever....you will just eat alot more....
This is just crazyness...
I guess they can’t even get them to pay attention in sex ed class?
“Darwinism in Action.”
or Evolution in Action.
If Mountain Dew was one of the multiple choice questions, I’m sure the teens thought it hilarious to circle it. Teens may be airheads but they’re not that stupid.

Butt of course condoms will prevent HIV. Nevermind the HIV status of the partners, so long as a condom is involved, sex among consenting organisms is sacrosanct.
Let ‘em go. The gene pool needs a good cleaning.
I think we can assume that. lol!
I can't believe they are that stupid though. I guess all the money the taxpayer's spent on sex education didn't work? So, they are going to spend more?!
LOL! maybe that is where they learned it!
BTW, my teen just told me they had a nosey survey today on something today in class so she just circled “I don’t know” all the way down the page. She’s smart enough to know it’s none of the school’s business.
I think you’re correct in that the teen were having a bit of fun while filling out the survey.
Nice try wackos!
Sex education has destroyed what the Soviet Union could not...
“State lawmakers said the myths are spreading because of Florida’s abstinence-only sex education, Local 6 reported.”
No agenda here, move along.
It will definitely prevent HIV... and everything else.
It sure will if they drink enough of it.
Well, they have a point. If you drink enough of it, it can prevent you from passing on HIV to others.
Maybe this is natural selection's way of stopping your DNA from further diluting the gene pool.
The deepest wound in her life, though, was indirectly inflicted by Roque when she refused to allow Ms. Picasso and her brother to attend Picasso's funeral. Devastated by the rebuff, Pablito drank a bottle of bleach and, after three months of suffering, with Ms. Picasso constantly at his side, he died.
I’m turning blu-u-u-e with Clorox Bleach.
Please circle the most appropriate answer(s) to the following (circle all that apply):
What is the method to prevent contracting the virus responsible for HIV/AIDS?
a) Total abstinence from sex
b) Drink one cup of bleach immediately following sex
c) Always use a condom when engaging in sex
You forgot D) Spark up a doobie.
They'll think this method better than any Ph.D. thesis as far as its impact to change education and the way dollars may flow to this arena.

NICE .... these people will be voting in 4 years or less.
Something tells me these teens were having some fun with this survey.
Many years ago, I had to proctor a survey like this at the high school where I was teaching. After the survey, a number of the students were bragging about who gave the most outrageous answers. They figured out that if they didn’t have to put their name on the survey, there would be no consequences. They also saw an opportunity to mess with the establishment.
The lovely St Petersberg Times had an article a few weeks ago on the front page on how the vast majority of FL parents “Floridans Want Sex Education In Schools”.
The SPT seems to have a direct link to the DNC. Whenever the dems want to push for something, a poll or thinly disguised biased editorial appears on the front page. The moment I saw it, I said, hmmm, the Dems must be pushing for Sex education right now.
It’s a whole long article how parents want even their youngest to have sex education in school. So I went looking for the poll. Guess what. It’s not there.
Classic biased misinformation from the MSM. I’ll bet it says something like, do you think your child should have education to prevent contracting diseases or such. The SPT has a clear agenda, and it ain’t to spread the truth.
Heres a link.
What kind of survey? The kind educrats sneak into the classroom without the parents' knowledge or consent?
Was this a multiple choice survey? If so, what normal teen *wouldn't* choose the most absurd answers to intrusive questions?
I can easily imagine such a scenario, with the mentally deficient survey analysts contorting in a twist over the supposed ignorance of the teenagers. Either the warped minds who put out these surveys are too stupid to understand an obvious joke, or they designed the survey to generate such a predictable outcome. That way these pervs can manufacture an excuse to get all worked up and falsely blame abstinence programs.
Never underestimate the wickedness and depravity of people who would craft sex surveys for kids. Talk about an abuse of power.
a) Total abstinence from sex
b) Drink one cup of bleach immediately following sex
c) Always use a condom when engaging in sex
d) Soak the condom in Clorox Bleach for twenty minutes before use. Do not rinse
I’d like a little more information on this “survey” before I accept as true the findings. This sound supsiciously like something that was made up, manipulated, or otherwise conducted with the outcome known in advance. Kids have always thought some dumb things, but a shot of mountain dew is a bit over the top.
I think we can assume that. lol!
You sure about that? The dumbing down has progressed pretty far...
A couple weeks ago, there was an article about a teen who was convinced aluminum foil could be used to make a condom. I’m sure THAT one gets plenty of sex! (OUCH!)
This might not come from public schools, but I can’t imagine homeschooled teens buying it.
where did you find that?
Hey! It’s true! You can’t get HIV, if you’re already dead from drinking bleach.
(snort) TThe only Halls of Ivy any of these chaff are ever likely to enter will be ones of a mausoleum.
There is plenty of information out there, on the internet, especially, about how to avoid pregnancy and HIV. Obviously the kids answering this survey are too STOOPID to find it.
Whatever name they go by, Democrat/Liberal/Progressive/Socialist..They are the Chaff of Humanity...best to let them go ahead and kill themselves off.
Drinking a cup of bleach is a good way to stop lots of things..... like living.
Nanny ping at least.....
