I am calling BS on that story about the pregnant woman in Ohio. Something is not right about it. Pregnant women have different rules as far as Medicaid is concerned. A pregnant woman in Ohio who is working at a minimum wage job IS eligible for Medicaid. If she didn't get medical care, it was not because the care was not available. Medicaid covers pregnant women with incomes up to 200% of the Federal Poverty Level.

Not to mention that most hospitals are obligated to take patients regardless of their ability to pay. Which may go a long way toward explaining why she had to travel to another county to find a hospital. Although, to be fair, I don’t know the county in question so it may just be particularly small.

If not Medicaid, then state assistance programs. Even 25 years ago, there were state and county level programs in place to help pregnant women.

Come on. Does anyone actually believe this worthless, brainless liar any more? Hello Yale! You better start thinking of methods by which you can remove degrees from those who have demonstrated no competancy in their chosen subjects. I can think of two prime candidates, married to each other. One was disbarred. The other should be.

Any hospital in the US that has received federal funds under Hill Burton legislation MUST take indigent walk ins. This would cover 95 + percent of the hospitals in the United States.

Is a government-run health care system going to make such stories more or less common?
Leaving aside questions of freedom and independence and being able to keep your own money and individual responsibility, on the basic question of effective delivery of care, I would wager that a government-run system is going to inevitably increase the frequency of tragedies like this.

“I remember listening to a story...” Those words should alert the listener to be ready to roll up his trousers, here comes the bull$hit. If this story is just that, one made up in the beast’s mind, she can say that it was someone else’s not her own. Let’s face it, when Hillary resorts to anecdotal asides, she is most likely telling a lie.
