Muslim responds to Fitna: 'I'm Not the Least Bit Offended'
Der Spiegel Online ^ | 3/31/08 | Fatma Aykut

Posted on 04/03/2008 4:04:32 PM PDT by kiriath_jearim

In his film "Fitna," right-wing Dutch populist Geert Wilders condemns Islam, the Koran and practicing Muslims. Fatma Aykut, a Muslim journalist living in Germany, describes the impact the film had on her -- and why it failed to shock.

Footage of a hijacked airplane slamming into the World Trade Center on 9/11. Hate-mongering mullahs calling Muslims to a holy war. Images of the mangled corpses of victims in the 2004 Madrid train bombings. These are the tools by which right-wing Dutch populist Geert Wilders tries to "shock" his audience.

But it doesn't work.

But it did make her leg tingle...

I notice she virtually skips over the main point of the film, which was that all these incitements to violence and hatred and mayhem are in the Koran itself.

How could “Fitna” ever SHOCK a real Muslim. What is shown is their everyday experience.

I would like to add my two cents at this juncture:

It occurred to me as the media was reporting on this and seemingly disappointed at times that Muslims were not reacting against this, like a prostitute watching as her pimp is insulted but does nothing, that there’s an obvious reason we’ve only seen a perfunctory reaction to this from real Muslims. They must agree with the message of Islam portrayed in the film. And that, to me, is scarier than all the burnings of effigies and threats to the west from the cartoon protests.

Their silence condemns them.

“Show me just what Muhammad brought that was new and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached.”

It really amazes me that they can just skip over it. But I guess they really are brainwashed, and that’s so far from the average experience of most of us that we have trouble even conceiving of it. They simply reject and ignore reason.

Well there you go. Ho~HUM. The author has seen it all before and is desensitized. She probably Cringes in fear at every Michael Moore epic or cold sweats at the horrors of panties tossed on your head. She’s living in a country where the populace became inured to such things in the not too distant past.

If muslims were not schocked, it is because they know Wilder’s movie is accurate...

Muslims aren't offended by images of terrorism, but imagine the outrage if THIS image ever appeared in a public newspaper:
