I've often wondered what newly elected Presidents think about on their first day at work. You know, will I make friends easily? Where are the restrooms? Will the bigger kids pick on me? What if I don't remember everyone's names? Who picks me up after work? What if I lose my pencils? My sense is that it's a lot like the first day in school except the stakes are bigger and your hopes get dashed a lot quicker. Then there's the annoyance of all those guys around you with things in their ears talking into their wrists and whispering, "New Day is Dawning....New Day is Dawning"..
I imagine the first day at work for Barack will be a little unsettling. First of all, not everyone in the White House will be on his side right away. They'll be some people going through a transition and needing to look for other jobs. Other people will have been there since JFK and will be needing to retire. The really neat thing though about the Oval Office is that everyone comes to you for meetings and you get to sit in the big chair behind the desk with the flags . Even when there's a lot of people in your office they always let you sit first because you're the President.

That is why his “first day” would likely be spent envisioning what Hillary is doing in the oval office while he is 6 feet under.
My first day in office would last until lunch. After that the staff will handle everything for the rest of my term.
Well unless he immediately signs an executive order allowing smoking in the White House I imagine it'll be pretty edgy.
He’ll be on the phone setting up meetings with Iran, Syria, North Korea about what concessions to give them. Next, he will launch a national campaign about the importance of unions. Throughout the day he will invite Farrakhan, Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton into the Oval Office where they will gloat and celebrate, smiling like hyenas.

The prospect of Barack Obama in the White House is far too frightening a prospect to be taken lightly. I pray that it will never happen. Obama’s idea of CHANGE is a Marxist revolution, that’s what Black Liberation Theology is all about.
Painters will prolly start painting the exterior of the White House purple with pink trim or some other gaudy colors.
Cue the Algore picture with the thought bubble “P T Barnum was right” and replace Gore with Obama.

It is rumored that he is being measured for a new wardrobe. Changes include making room in his suits for bullet-proof apparel. This move was recommended by Obama’s security advisors who all, off the record, suggest that the reason is non other than Vice-President Hillary Clinton.
When these advisors were challenged by reporters who suggested that President Obama would be in more danger from ‘typical white radicals’, the advisors seemed puzzled. After all, they said, who would be dumb enough to cap Obama when VP Clinton was waiting in the wings. No, they said, the biggest threat to President Obama was from within his own administration.
