Now that's a pretty good idea!
We used to make homemade firecrackers out of pyrodex, duct tape, and cannon fuse.
Can't do that stuff if you're a kid now. And I didn't hurt anything with the firecrackers. Usually tossed them in a field or sank them in a pond with a rock. Those things made quite a ripple!

Same here, never into property damage, just liked making things go boom. A 35mm film can filled with home-made flashpowder was great for taking chunks out of tree stumps.

My kids will never know the fun like we did with sodium chlorate and paper towels.
I found an old piece of water pipe and about a 3” round rock that we shot through an oak tree, that stuff had some kick to it!
6 sheets of bounty with a roll of duct tape and we lifted the ice off of an an entire pond one winter, spent the next hours trying not to get caught for that little stunt....
