This is the big yawn issue. Who cares about this merger. This is the twenty first century, consumers have choices: traditional radio; HD radio; Internet radio; radio on cell phones..... this is not 1930’s where we all huddle around a 40 pound radio filled with vacuum tubes for our only source of media information.

It appears XM was in service for a while before Sirius started up.

Nobody told the XM folks “You can’t launch service unless a competitor starts up also”.

How, then, does a merger create any worse situation than that which existed prior to the launch of Sirius?
