Racism in the pulpit has been an ugly reality in the black community for some 40 years. Yet, it took the mad rantings of Barack Obama's pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright Jr. to bring it to our national consciousness.

For the sake of the future of our great country, it is time we spoke frankly about this insidious cancer.

Thank God for Rev. Peterson. Why can't blacks see that they are dying right and left. Their hatred is blinding them to the real evils that are destroying the black race!

It's apparent to most Americans that Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Louis Farrakhan, the NAACP, members of the Congressional Black Caucus and the liberal elite wing of the Democratic Party are racist, but until the recent controversy surrounding Rev. Wright, black preachers have hidden their racism behind their pulpits.

Rev. Peterson has been saying this for years. I never thought too much about it, except for the fact that there are black churches on every corner in the inner city and the blacks are a moral mess there.

Yes, the school textbooks are a problem too. When I lived in New Orleans I went to the home of a Creole woman I knew for a haircut. I was leafing through her son’s civics book — it was page after page about how racist the USA was.

Whenever black congregants hear these pastors blame whites for their own failings many rejoice because it takes away the responsibility of looking at themselves. These preachers derive power from the failure of their subjects.

I know a lady, ‘supposedly’ a friend of mine who heard in her church that the whites were fixing to make slaves of blacks again! She believes it. I was so suprised that she would believe it.

Many black pastors have said that Sunday morning is the most segregated time of the week because whites go to their churches and blacks to theirs. However, the question has never been asked, "What role are black preachers playing in keeping the races from coming together on Sunday morning?"

I have interviewed and debated more than 400 preachers (mostly black) on my radio show, including members of Trinity United Church of Christ, and "Black Liberation Theology" experts like Professor Dwight Hopkins and others. I am all too familiar with the false theology of these racist black preachers.

White pastors andministers...are you going to let this abomination continue without standing up against it? What would Jesus do?

The fact is that for nearly 50 years, the IRS should have been inspecting black churches and their 501c non-profit stances for campaigning in their churches. And it has been done 100% by Dem candidates. It seems that every church that has had a Pub candidate come and not even campaign , has been investigated. What a double standard!

Excuse me, but most folks I know (and this in Texas) had/have no idea of such hatred being preached. If they did, the preachers I know would certainly say something.

These same black preachers claim to be called by God, but how is it that a minister can be called by God and have hatred in his heart?

Well, they know since all this business about Jeremiah Wright and I don’t hear them denouncing him or Obama in public, holding press conferences denouncing these totally unchristian ways. I hope it changes. Part of the blame for us getting to this point where down and up and up is down is their fault, it didn’t happen overnight. Christians have got to stop nitpicking over dogma and get together and fight for basic Christian principles.

Al Sharpton was caught on camera a few years back - in the pulpit - ranting. Think O'Reilly played it. . .or someone. . .but of course, that story died. After all; he did save Tawanna Brawley; so why give Al trouble. . .

And of course, if anyone thinks Obama, infused and informed as he is, by Black Liberation Theology; is going to cure that what ails us; is truly delusional.

and where are the strong leaders inside the congregations that should be standing up to their ministers? The biggest demon seems to find a way onto the pulpit and then nobody dares anger it and stand up to the dimwit minister who it controls. If the church would be teaching it’s people how to be still in the mind from all of the evil and good thoughts that we get everyday, then the people would have the strength and patience to correct their leaders or just get the hell out of those churches.

Got your “ping”, abigail. As some of you may know, my little family (all three of us) have intimate experience with this situation and have suffered horribly. Pastor Wright's preaching style is as far from Christian in the clips I have seen as I am from becoming an astronaut.

Because of my strong civil rights opinions, I raised a color-blind child, a child who made me prouder than I ever imagined I could be. My home was filled with his team mates, and I fed, mended, washed, tucked in cornrows next to blond curls and high and tight brown buzz jobs. Our table was blessed with the finest young men our country has to offer - one of whom is finishing his course of study at West Point this May, others who have continued their studies and made strides to live a full and useful live in the country they love.

As some of you know, my son was recruited by a major Division 1 Christian/Catholic School to head their team. The day he received his invitation to join the hallowed ranks of Quarterbacks, he was accused of a horrible crime by someone who has heard sermons like those or Pastor Wrights “old school” moments. From that moment to this day, our family has suffered enormously financially, emotionally and physically.

Even now, my son is having to explain this horrendous miscarriage of justice to the Marines in order to enter Officer Candidates School. It is extremely painful to watch this faithful, outstanding young man have to deal with this once again.

I cannot say how despicable I find this discourse of race, how sinful those pastors are who promote it and how hot the fires of hell will be upon their demise. If you offered them salvation, they'd turn it down. They are comfortable with their religion of hate. I pray daily for their conversion. I will not speak against it.

Jesus knocked over the money changers tables and stopped what was going on there. IT isn’t a protest. Preachers who’s father isn’t God are representing themselves to young vulnerable people as representing Him. Instead of love they are preaching hate. I believe Jesus would not have let that go on.
