LONDON, April 9, 2008 (LifeSiteNews.com) - The Terrence Higgins Trust (THT), an organisation in the UK founded ostensibly to combat the spread of HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases, has set up a website giving graphic information and instruction to homosexual men interested in "extreme" sexual practices. The site, called "Hard Cell", includes photos of male models involved in the various practices described, including "barebacking" - anal sex without condoms; "body mods" like branding, cutting and scarification; bondage and "breath control" or controlled strangulation.
The Terrence Higgins Trust is a registered British charity founded to provide information to stem the spread of AIDS, and "promote good sexual health" and is considered the UK's leading HIV and AIDS charity, and the largest such charity in Europe.
The site's graphics, with photos of men in strongly suggestive scenes, is designed to resemble popular homosexual pornographic websites. It gives information on how to conduct "hard sex" "safely" with a view to the various ways such practices can spread sexually transmitted diseases.
The section titled "Safer Drug Taking" also describes various techniques for using illegal drugs like methamphetamine ("crystal meth"), ecstasy, cocaine and heroin, giving advice on how to use the drugs with less risk of spreading disease. One section advises, "Syringes shouldn't be shared - but if you do, cleaning them between each user means less risk."
The group defended the site saying that research is showing that homosexual men have questions about specific sex-related acts, but do not know where to get reliable information. Will Nutland, Strategic Lead for Health Promotion and Health Improvement at THT, told media, "The website provides up-front information right through from bondage and branding to watersports."
Recent figures show that the rates of HIV infection among active homosexual men in the UK are rising. The Health Protection Agency released its figures on March 28 showing that an estimated 6,840 new HIV diagnoses were reported in 2007 in the United Kingdom.
Over the past 12 months there has been no evidence of a fall in the current high rate of HIV transmission among gay men within the UK. 38 per cent of new diagnoses in 2007 were in this group.
The site works on the theory of "harm reduction", adopted by most public health authorities and organisations, that assumes some people always have and always will engage in behaviours which carry risks, such as casual sex, prostitution, and drug use. Those people, the theory holds, should be helped to carry on with the activities "safely" and under some level of supervision.
Harm reduction is popular among progressivists who believe there is nothing to be gained from promoting chastity and self-restraint and who work to legalise drugs, prostitution and paedophilia. It was arguments based on the harm reduction theory that brought about the legalisation of abortion in most of the western world. Abortion advocates did and still do argue that legalisation made abortion "safe" for women. Harm reduction theories can even be found behind the rhetoric of the movement to legalise euthanasia and physician assisted suicide.
Harm reduction programmes in many parts of the world, normally publicly funded or run by tax-exempt organisations like THT, include the provision of condoms in public schools, needle exchange programs or "safer injection sites" for intravenous drug users and the legalisation of prostitution. The modern use of "sex-education" in schools is a massive harm-reduction programme that assumes young people cannot or will not practice the virtue of chastity and so must be instructed in schools how to use contraceptives and obtain abortions.
The same idea is behind the international efforts to combat HIV/AIDS in the developing world, where condoms are pushed in countries like Uganda. Organisations like the World Health Organisation that adhere to the harm reduction theory maintain that abstinence and chastity programmes should be downplayed on the grounds that the people of those countries are incapable of leading chaste lives.

The British Empire continues its decline.
I’m reminded of that great Randy Newman song about gay people...no, wait, that was short people...
"Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." - Manuel II Palelologus
More disgusting depravity from the Eurotrash moral reprobates.
I’d like to suggest a “body mod” - castration so that they are rid of their suicidal compulsion.
Research shows that gay men like gay porn. Film at 11.
I'm sure that if they really want to try something, they'll figure it out, or they can ask around down at the "club."
I’m old enough to remember the robust days when leftists were in favor of “liberation.” Now it seems they’ll settle for hygienic and well-supervised slavery.
There are limits to “harm reduction”. For example, advising someone to fire the bullet into their mouth through the upper palate into their brain, instead of at the side of the head, where it might just bounce off the skull, causing discomfort.
There are fortunately rare psychiatric conditions in which individuals intensely desire trepanation, boring a hole in their skull; amputating healthy limbs and DIY castration, along with vast libraries on “body modification”; and far worse. But the Internet is full of useful information on how to either do such things to yourself or having them done to you by others.
None of this comes under the heading of “harm reduction”.
If anything, prosecutions for “practicing medicine without a license” are in order, as a start. Followed by “reckless endangerment”. Several new laws should be added to the books as well.
Perhaps these could include “harmful medical practices”, “exploitation of the mentally ill”, and “voluntary or incitement to aggravated assault.”
filthy disease ridden queers strike again...
My only shed tears are for
(1) the taxpayer, who is forced to subsidize the health-care of those voluntarily engaging in risky behavior (especially now that AIDS medications have reduced fears of contracting HIV...they all live longer now)
(2) the wives and children of bisexual men who carry their pestilence home
These sicknesses only persist on such a scale because of direct and indirect subsidy. Even the allegorical explanation is clear - when the good decent people left Sodom, it collapsed.
While a student at the University of Wisconsin I learned of one instance of this disorder - in a pre-med student who had already performed a choriotomy (sp?) on himself. His story was published in a medical journal and came to light as a result of his attempting further self service surgery. He got into the surgical process, then realized he was having problems and called the EMT’s, who took him to the UW Hospital, where the work was finished. The EMTs and campus police who responded to his call were astonished to find an improvised operating theater in his dorm room (Sellery Hall). He had rigged mirrors and set up a makeshift operating table with lights and a sophisticated array of surgical tools. The procedure he was performing on himself was an appendectomy, which he considered a good choice for a starter project. The medical journal write-up indicated that he had performed the choriotomy as part of an intended sex change process, and that sexual identity problems were just part of his difficulties.
One of the eerier examples that come to mind was of a surgeon who was assigned to a large mental hospital in South America.
Just coincidentally, the hospital had four patients, all with severe “body integrity identity disorder”. All were intent on having a healthy limb removed, and had tried various means to do so, unsuccessfully. Psychologically they were unresponsive to multiple therapies and barely able to function. They were so affected that they were unable to walk, bathe, or eat without assistance.
The young surgeon proposed the experimental removal of one of the “hated” limbs from one of the patients. The medical staff debated this for several years, seeing it as one of the worst possible violations of medical ethics. They also conferred with outside doctors, and started a major national medical debate in the community.
Eventually, the surgeon did remove a leg. The psychological recovery of the near-catatonic patient was amazing. He was restored to a near healthy mental state and enthusiastically greeted his family. He was released to their care with extended and positive psychiatric follow-up.
So the surgeon performed the equivalent surgeries on the other three patients. Two of the three had similar positive results. The last one, mysteriously, though much better, puzzled everyone by transferring a much reduced version of his disorder to *part* of his remaining healthy foot. That is, he said for everything to be peachy, he would also prefer that two of his other foot’s healthy toes and part of the foot be removed as well.
It was noted that he was not devastated when they refused this second surgery, seeing it as “icing on the cake” to having his other leg removed, which was the majority of his problem.
The results from these four surgeries took the debate into another realm in that nation’s medical community. They concluded that it would have to be evaluated for an extended period of time before any conclusions could be drawn.
Ironically, this was just before the rise of the Internet, and what they thought was an extraordinary coincidence of four such patients being at the same hospital, was actually far less surprising. This is because there are now *popular* websites devoted to “body integrity identity disorder”, and as it turns out, hundreds or more people who seem to have this same dysfunction. It is not rare at all.
Hundreds of people who want at least a healthy limb chopped off.
