I love these "peaceful" liberals out in San Fran. DO AS I SAY CHINESE WOMAN! I KNOW MORE ABOUT TIBET THAN YOU DO! I AM FROM SAN FRANCISCO!!

he modern convention of moving the Olympic Flame via a relay system from Olympia to the Olympic venue began with the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin, Germany. The relay, captured in Leni Riefenstahl's film, "Olympia", was part of the Nazi propaganda machine's attempt to add myth and mystique to Adolf Hitler's regime. Hitler saw the link with the ancient Games as the perfect way to illustrate his belief that classical Greece was an Aryan forerunner of the modern German Reich.[1]

One of my favorite pictures is Jesse Owens receiving his gold medal at the 36 Olympics, standing above the German and Japanese. He was the man.

Free TIBET, but NOT IRAQ, I’ll bet.....such a conundrum for the lefties.

The other issue for lefties is that China is ostensibly a COMMUNIST country. Lefties love commies, at least most of the time. This is one of the those "Your Head Asplode" moments.

I must disagree. Somebody has to stand up raise hell about the Chinese crimes against humanity in Tibet. If that means some people won’t get to see the torch ceremony, so be it. There are far more important things at stake. For once, these people are actually protesting somebody that deserves it. If I were in San FranSicko I’d probably be right there with them.

My impression was that most of the “Free Tibet” people today were kind of low-energy and disappointed that they couldn’t be chanting their usual anti-Bush slogans. Somehow, they seemed to think China is just a branch office of the Bush/Cheney Corporation for World Domination. ;)

>> He was the man.

Yes, indeed. And he was SALUTING. He was PROUD of his country, and not at all ashamed to show it.

Brings tears to my eyes. Thanks for the post.

I bet the leftists and socialists are having an “angist” moment trying to decide who to support.

Tibet, because it is the cause Celeb, or Commie China, because it is commie.

She looks pretty nonplussed.

She's probably thinking:
“Darn, he wears glasses, so much for his eyes, but....I wonder how much we could get for his liver and kidneys. Nah...it's San Francisco. He's probably HIV+ with HepC. We'll just use him for fertilizer and grow vegetables with him”.

China has been politicizing the hell out of everything Olympic related the moment they got Beijing named the site 7 years ago.

In an ideal world it’s not a political event, but since China already made it one, the only viable option is to respond accordingly. Because without the protests, China will claim it as a total political victory.

I'm really having fun watching this!

Everybody involved are annular orifices, so no matter who gets hurt or goes to jail, a scumbag got shafted.

Conservatives are no where near this fiasco.

Some points that make liars out of everybody:

The Olympics are entirely a political propaganda and public relations tool.

The International Olympic Committee is a waste of skin.

The torch run was first implemented by Hitler for Nazi propaganda purposes for the 1936 Olympics.

The Communist Chinese human rights record has been the worlds worst, since their commie revolution in 1949, not 1958 (invasion of Tibet) or 2008.

San Francisco leftie traitors were perfectly happy with the Chinese commies until last week.

Gavin Nuisance and most of the San Francisco public employees still love 'em.

Heather Fong and the SF police like 'em so much they take their orders directly from Beijing.

The torch bearers are current examples of "useful idiots"

The blue track suit boys are Chinese military trained thugs that represent the lefties perfectly.

Finally, a situation where only a bad guy can get hurt.

I read somewhere today that the practice of running the Olympic torch on an multi-country itinerary only started in 2000. Previously the flame was transported from Greece to the host country and was run through the host nation only, culminating in arriving at the scene of the opening cremony and igniting the big flare.

The Olympic flame, when carried surrounded by the Chinese Peoples Liberation Army goons-in-baby blue jumpsuits and the sea of Commmunist Red flags, has turned it into a parade of the "torch of repression."

The funny party is that this little Chinese girl has probably trained at martial arts all her life and could tear out his tiny blank, liberal heart before he could say "Nancy Pelosi".
