“Bonasera....Bonasera....why do you treat me so disrespectfully? If you’d come to me in friendship, the scum that ruined your daughter would be suffering this very day. And if an honest man like yourself should make enemies, they would become MY enemies....and then, they would fear you.” Great movie line, second only to “YOU CAN ACT LIKE A MAN” followed by slapping Johnny Fontane in the face.

...and some people object to the death penalty.

It's such an easy way out!

I object to convicts having heat in the winter, AC in the summer, decent ventilation, working plumbing, and a bed. I object to convicts having anything more than a 7x3 concrete cell, a bucket for a bathroom, and straw to sleep on. No yard privvies, no mess hall. No leaving the cell, period. No access to tv, radio, books (save the Bible) or newspapers. I object to "Correctional Facilities." I object to the ACLU.

I'm all for penitentiary prisons. The more medieval, the better. Death is such an easy way out.

That made me laugh. You have it down pat. That’s what our kids do. They insert a line from a movie in conversation whenever appropriat. Not planned just when something keys their memory then they spout a line from Seinfeld, Raymond or a movie. Johnny deserved to be slapped. He was acting like a whiny jackass. :)

Don't blame Wal-Mart. This is another example of the decline of our culture. Wal-Mart probably has 2 or 3 people that work in “Loss Prevention”. They actually work as both safety and security. Most stores (Wal-Mart, Lowes, Target...) today tell there employees that if someone shoplifts just let them go. They don't want to get sued by some lawyer for breaking some thugs ankle when the girl at the checkout goes Bruce Lee on him. They hope they can ID the criminal from the security recordings and turn that over to police. THAT is the reason they have cameras, to ID perpetrators of crime for prosecution later, well AFTER THE CRIME. They are not there to provide over-watch for you.

Very few businesses, or government agencies for that matter, have someone dedicated to monitoring security cameras (CCTV). And even those that do are not reliable due to the fact a human can not watch a CCTV monitor showing parked cars or empty aisles for more than 30-45 minutes without a serious degradation in concentration.

If you are anywhere that has security cameras, do not think someone is watching over you. But that fact is really not much different from the police. You would like to feel they are out there to protect us, but they are becoming more and more uniformed crime scene investigators, coming to help AFTER THE CRIME.
