Two Positions and Two Tall Tales in One Stop For Hillary
Commentary Magazine ^ | April 11, 2008 | Abe Greenwald

Posted on 04/11/2008 1:12:49 PM PDT by Jbny

At a campaign stop in Philadelphia, Hillary Clinton proposed an anti-crime package that would put 100,000 more cops on the streets of the U.S.

It’s a good thing, too: Another part of her package calls for letting imprisoned crack users back out on the streets to mix it up with the extra cops. According to the Los Angeles Times, this is all part of a plan to reduce recidivism and achieve fair treatment for blacks and whites under the law. Crack users “are disproportionately black,” and “the law punishes them more harshly than powder cocaine users, who are predominantly white.”

“put 100,000 more cops on the streets of the U.S.”

Wasn’t this one of Bill’s false promises that he never kept when he got elected? You’d think she’d know better than to recycle his unfulfilled campaign promises; someone’s bound to remember.

Funny, remember when she was running for senator and up in Albany her backers spit on and cursed the cop honor guard?

Much of her campaign is just BILL REDO.

Watch her hand movements while speaking. Watch Bill in one of his speeches.

Isn't the mandatory 5-year sentence for crack dealers, rather than for mere users?

Once again, Alinsky's devoted disciple stirs the rancid old pot.

Evidently she remembers the propaganda success Bill had with his “100,000 more teachers” bill in 1993. Of course, only 13,000 were actually hired, and they were let go the next year because Clinton’s bill only provided for one year of funding by the fed—the states were supposed to pick up the tab after that. Most states declined to hire at all, knowing they’d have to lay the teachers off after a year.

Well it isn’t uncommon for Hildabeast to be talking out of both sides of her snout—but on the other hand the “war on drugs” needs serious revamping. Yes, inner city folks who use these substances tend toward crack because its cheaper than the powdered stuff. Richer folks (possibly of the Caucasian persuasion)when they use the stuff are slicker in the dealings with the dealer, and usually aren’t committing violent crimes in order to feed their habit. That’s why there are more black folks in jail for drug use. It’s not because they are black, or that they use crack instead of powdered cocaine. I don’t have a problem with letting someone out of jail if it were just mere possession. If person A was caught by the police in a violent crime and had drugs in his possession then give him what he deserves, other I don’t oppose the leniency.

How about Congress repeals all laws dealing with 2nd amendment rights or lack there of.

Problem will be solved in less than a year, will not need more cops, as they will not be needed. All perps will have gone to a better place.

“Crack users “are disproportionately black,”

Isn’t this a racist comment? If you dare suggest that blacks represent a higher proportion of prison populations because maybe they commit more crimes, the left is all over you as being a racist. But when you admit that crack users are disproportionately black, isn’t this a possibe explanation of the racial composition of prison populations? I’ll bet the Obama people pick up on this one!!

"Wasn’t this one of Bill’s false promises that he never kept when he got elected?"

Yahbut, it's a standard pass the buck, no one takes responsability kind of thing.

A fixed amount of money is allocated to a community to hire new cops. The community has to show a need, and some kind of Chinese math determines the amount. When the money is gone, the community has to pick up the new hiree's pay, or let him/her go.

Guess what almost always happened?

So ... like Satan never really DOES anything but tempt us (and claims satanically 'clean hands'), so too The x42's (and all politicians) claim clean hands ... "Well, I got the por ... er ... money for you, it's up to you to be wise with it ... I guess you don't know how to be wise with money, so I'll pass a bill and be the controlling factor."

Incrementalism, folks ... incrementalism.

You get to think the Clinton’s don’t have many new ideas. I believe this is a result of keeping the same people around them forever.
It’s either they love them so much or their afraid that if they throw them overboard they’ll write a book.

From the LA Times story:
Claiming that her husband's administration "reduced crime to historic lows" in the 1990s, Clinton argued that "we have to get back to doing what we know works."

" I'm old-fashioned about that," she told a group at a YMCA gymnasium.

Wasn't it just yesterday that Howard Dean was telling the press their attack on John McCain would be that he's OLD FASHIONED?!

I thought the comment that crack users are “disproportionately black” was racist because it meant they were “too” black, not enough other stuff.

Or at least that their blackness was not in the correct proportion to their otherness.

Or that they were black while not being correctly proportioned.

Anyway . . . as I said, I was still trying to figure out what was a “Typical White Person,” never mind a “Disproportionately Black” person.

My favorite Bubba promise that came out of one of his laundry lists State of the Union speeches was to put all the chillen in “school uniforms.”

Yep, the President of the United States, during a STate of the Union address, was yammering out about the virtues of school uniforms.

But he never did that either.
