Man held gun to baby as he raped her mother, Orange Sheriff's Office says
OrlandoSentinel.com ^ | April 11, 2008 | Bianca Prieto

Posted on 04/12/2008 5:28:45 AM PDT by Brilliant

The choice was clear: Either she comply or he would shoot her baby girl.

Her attacker already had pulled a gun and forced her back into her car in the ...Wal-Mart parking lot. He reclined the front passenger seat and ordered her to lie facedown. He then raped her while she looked at her child in the car seat behind her.

All the while, the victim said, he pressed a .25-caliber pistol against the 15-month-old toddler.

...he told her to sit in the driver's seat and dump the contents of her purse. He robbed her and ordered her to get into the trunk, leaving her baby alone in the car...

Numerous tips and surveillance video led deputies to their suspect, 24-year-old David Welker...

The ...victim pulled into the Wal-Mart...to pick up milk and supplies... She noticed Welker...waiting near the front door ...but assumed he was an employee... Security video shows Welker had been loitering there since 5:22 a.m., more than 45 minutes... He watched others go in and out...

The victim parked her car and got out, then reached back inside to grab her daughter's sippy cup and pacifier from the center console.

When she turned around, Welker was behind her, ordering her back into the car at gunpoint... He told her to drive to the back of the store and park.

Fearing for her child's life, she complied...

Taking his time, Welker rummaged through the glove compartment looking for something to steal...

Then an unimaginable 20 minutes of terror began. Holding his gun against the toddler, who was awake, Welker began raping the mother...

Welker completed a work-release program just weeks before the rape arrest for firearm and grand-theft convictions...

When making that ruling...Judge John Jordan said, "There is no condition of release that can reasonably protect the community."

The important part is the last two paragraphs. This guy was one of those "nonviolent" prisoners the liberals want us to let out of jail to make room for the "violent" felons.

In the liberal mind, they don’t become violent until they use them.

“Welker completed a work-release program just weeks before the rape arrest for firearm and grand-theft convictions...”

well there you have it - these programs work!

If it hadn’t been for this program, surely, he would have gone a step further and shot mother and child.

Thank goodness for these programs that teach criminals a little bit of restraint! /s

In your thread:

forced her back into her car in the ...Wal-Mart parking

In the actual article:

forced her back into her car in the nearly deserted Wal-Mart parking

You have omitted words throughout.

Are you an editor?

Too bad she wasn’t carrying a gun herself. With all the moving around, getting in and out of the car, she likely had a few seconds where she could have defended herself and her child when his guard was down.

I have read of it happening many times. It is just very hard for a criminal to continually keep the victims under direct threat. At some point, they almost always point the gun away, move aside, or make some other mistake.

The problem should be solved by the girl’s father and boyfriend with a few baseball bats and some pruning shears.

It starts with taking God out of our classrooms, and removing Christ from Christmas. Soon the erosion of all moral constraints finds judges and leislators condoning the murdering of the unborn and teaching homosexuality to grade school kids.

What the f**k do we expect? This is nothing. We're going to look back on all this as "The Good Old Days" if we don't do an about face real soon.

This Nation was formed, and remained, a Christian Nation under God and His protections for almost 200 years. We enjoyed His glorious blessings for as long as that was so.

We as a country have now turned our backs on Him, and we're only just beginning to pay the price for that idiocy.

;-)

Every time I hear the details of a rape I wonder why we don't just euthanize the rapist. Castration seems like a good second choice. In this case however, if we can't kill this sub-human, castration isn't enough. Because liberal prison release programs insure that he and the many, many others like him will once again be among us, removing all of his male anatomy would be more appropriate so he truly cannot do this again.

If every judge and/or bureaucrat responsible for this guy’s release feared for their lives every time they left the house, the problem would solve itself. Mass conversion not needed.

No, he would come out with even more hate on his mind (what mind?) and since he could not rape, he would likley kill.

The cost of this man’s damage to society far outweighs any value he may ever prove capable of, he should be executed soonest.

More of us should be armed, emphasis on women, they are all too often victims simply due to sex and size.

Both of my daughters are CCW trained, and carry regularly- I hope they never have to use their weapons, but the result of not having (used) one when needed is even harder to live with.....

God Bless, MOLON LABE

The incidents like the one about which this thread was started are merely symptoms of a far greater and more insidious malaise. We should address the cause, not the sypmtoms.

My post adresses the cause. Your post ignores the cause and focuses on the symptom.

If a house be built, and it be built not with God, then the workers labour in vain. If the watchmen guard the city, and the city be not with God, then the watchmen keep their vigil in vain.

This country was founded by men who believed in, and relied upon God's Almighty Providence for their success in independence.

We have since, as a nation, turned our backs on God. He hasn't left us -- we left Him.

The price we pay now is nothing compared to the price we will pay if this nation continues on its Godless course.

You imply that judges should do a better job of enforcing the laws -- that if they feared for their lives, things might be different.

How can you expect men to obey Man's laws when they will not even heed God's own Law? Is it likely that a man fear for his mortal life if he fears not even for his immortal soul?

Our founders said that our Constitution was "intended for a righteous, Christian people; it is wholly unfit for any other."

Laws mean nothing to the Godless. There is no consequence. The proof of this is in the pudding, and the pudding has become a hideous and vile putrefaction. It's one thing to declare convenient outrage on posts like this, and quite another to try to actually effect change.

Agreed with your posts that He will let us flounder around until we turn around and face Him again...the problem I see currently is that mans compilation of useless laws are demanded to be followed before Gods laws and the evil men that propse ever more laws are banking on a meek and submissive doctrine to insure their survival.

At some point the gloves must come off...
