WASHINGTON -- U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice says the U.S. and EU are Serbia’s friends, but that Kosovo’s development as an independent state must be allowed.
“Both the U.S. and Germany have recognized Kosovo. We want a stable Balkans where Serbs will understand that they have good friends in the U.S. and the EU, but we must allow the development of Kosovo as an independent state,” said Rice at a joint press conference with German Foreign Minister Frank Walter Steinmeier.
Steinmeier added that the Balkans needed to be stable, and that in this respect, Kosovo’s stability was vital, which, as he put it, was not such an easy task, reports Voice of America.
“Obviously, at the moment, the key question is Kosovo’s stability in the Balkans, which is not such an easy task. Particularly, now ahead of parliamentary elections in Serbia, when the nationalists are trying to exploit this, and upset the pro-European atmosphere in Serbia. I hope that that idea won’t materialize,” said the German foreign minister.
Rice and Steinmeier broached a number of world challenges, including North Korea and Iran’s nuclear programs

Condi Rice is no friend to civilization. She is, in fact, only friends with radical, fanatic, jihadist Islam.
I suspect that if HAMAS, or Hizbollah, or Iran demanded she commit mass murder of infants live on CNN... she would gladly do it.
She has no redeeming qualities whatsoever.

At one time many of us admired Condi Rice. Frankly, at this point she merely disgusts me.
If she can’t say something sensible or decent, and if she is reined in by administration policy, then she should have the good grace to keep her mouth shut.
Secretary Rice was a brilliant sovietologist during the 1980s but she was a disaster as NSC head (Venezuela coup response) and has been an embarrassment as secretary of state.
Time to go home and watch football Condi.

Yes, a friend of mine worked with her at Hoover and said the same. Condi was actually what sold me on voting for Bush twice -- not that there were better alternatives at the time.
But now, I have to admit that Condoleezza Rice has been the single biggest disappointment of this Administration for me.
I can picture Obamarama and Candyrice “fixing” the world.
Add Hillaryous and Bearmanpig into the mix, with BJKlintoon stirring it up and you got what commies were dreaming about.

Serbia was carved up by Clinton and now Bush for not playing ball to deliver Caspian Sea oil and gas through their territory to western Europe.

You know, I recall some talk about Tony Blair and a pipeline well before we went into Kosovo, but never heard it mentioned again once we were in, and in fact not until I saw your post today. Do you know where there is background documentation on this item?

Considering the shenanigans perpetrated by her and the State Department, that response was appropriately timid.
