I’m ok with reparations with the following stipulations:
1 The payee must prove that he had an ancestor that was a slave.
2 The payee must prove that no ancestor was a part of the slave trade. Remember that white slave traders didn’t go into the jungle to capture slaves. This job was done by other black Africans.
3 The payee must reimburse us for the free education and all welfare payments made to himself and all ancestors.
4 All payees must relinquish US citizenship and agree to be deported to Africa.

Just to play along, let’s demand a detailed explanation as to how, and to whom, these “reparations” will be paid.
Then, we’ll examine this plan and tell them what will happen within 5 yrs after it is implemented.

Don’t forget the 200,000 - 300,000 Union soldiers who died in the Civil War. And the many more who lost limbs etc.
Yet still we have people who were never slaves, extorting people who were never slave owners. If they really think they aren’t better off here than in Africa, they can move to Africa.

And don’t forget - the payee should only receive funds from a payor that is a proven direct decendent of the payee’s ancestor’s owner, not the taxpayer...
My family was in Europe during the Civil War. Don’t want to pay for something I - or my ancestor’s - had nothing to do with.
I think reparations should be paid — entirely out of the coffers of the Democrat Party, since they are the only surviving American entity that was directly responsible for the continuation of slavery after our founding, as well as the KKK and Jim Crow.
Plus, the “reparations” paid by the Germans were not for “pain and suffering”, rather they were linked specifically to financial and real assets proven under law to have been appropriated by the Nazis, either for no payment, or for token payments that were a fraction of their actual value.
Anyone who thinks that America has not paid reparations should read Lincoln’s Second Inaugural Address.
To be fair, my people, the Caucasians, stole Rock & Roll, Jazz, and Do-wop from our brothers, the hyphenated-Americans. I propose that instead of reparations, we make a one-time payment of a google-bazillion dollars to them to square things up. But first we fine them a google-bazillion for Rap.
It would be nice if these people would consider making something more of themselves. How long have they been whining for more free stuff? No one alive today owes any of these people a damn thing.

Can't we make steps 1-3 a little easier to attain since getting to step 4 is what most important?

You could add to your list that each payee must prove that no ancestor was a slave owner. There were thousands of black slave owners. There were thousands of free blacks too. Do they want reparations?
OK, If these people buy into the concept that the descendants are responsible for the transgressions of their ancestors then they should have no trouble denying education, of other services, to the children of illegal immigrants since they have to shoulder the burden of their parent’s transgressions.

Exactly. Thousands of those families who fought for the Union and against slavery had their homes and land destroyed. It took generations to pull them out of poverty, many still there. How about reparations for them???

There isn't many people in the world who doesn't have someone somewhere down the familly tree that was enslaved or otherwise victimized by some brutal regime. In fact lets go way, way back to the time of Mohammad and get reparations for all the land he and the Mohammadans that followed him stole from Jews and Christians, Persians, etc. right across the mid east. there must be an oil well or two that belong to my familly.
Nothing is owed to him. the Whole jena six thing is BS. He owes society and his victims. If they want reparations, then get out of this country first. Then I'll send him a buck. it'll be worth a whole years food in Africa. (can you just imagine these people trying to survive in Africa without any government cheeze delivered to the door.)
Reparations assumes no acknowledgement of financial or other hardship has been made to date.
Two acres and a mule was a promise never fulfilled due to Democrat obstructionists. Sounds like a good idea provided the recipients live on the land and till with the mule.
Rep. John Conyers is holding a reparations bill in committee right now. He has stated that he will bring the bill to vote when Barack Hussein Obama is elected.
There is no doubt in my mind that Obambi would sign it. I agree that this question needs asked, but I would prefer it gets asked in the presidential race, not the nomination race.
If the reparations bill becomes law, that will be the last day I pay taxes in this country.
I think what I’m getting at is that they’re using the “reparations” generality to rile up the black community in support,
but if they would ever try to give us an implementation plan, it would be plain that it wouldn’t work the way they’re trying to currently present it.
Race hustler orgs like “rainbow coalition” would get all the money and the individual person would get nothing. No extra $$ for “consumbles” or bling or tennis shoes or a new ‘slade.
As well, there were blacks that bought their own freedom and then purchased slaves for themselves. What do we do about these cases?
The exodus of wealth from this country would be staggering. All that will be left of this country is illegal Mexicans and blacks fighting over abandoned loot, which will be worthless anyway. once the hand outs stop, they'll wish they never heard the word reparation.
If they reject that offer they lose the privilege of whining forever.
Since these programs are not specifically race targeted, these programs may not be considered reparations by some. In practice, these programs are part of reparations. Racial preferences are clearly reparations. We have had 40 years of racial preferences. The issue of reparations is to ensure racial preferences for the long term. The rats want to enshrine racial preferences in law that cannot be overturned by the courts or state ballot issues.
An African who came here from Senegal after living his entire life in a nation run by his own people would be immediately eligible for affirmative action here in the states. In other words, affirmative action is about race, not about any real world trauma suffered by any individual. The same thing will be true of reparations. They will simply be given to blacks regardless of whether or not their ancestors were ever actually enslaved in America. They'll even get them if their ancestors were slave owners. And that won't be the end of it. They'll then want Jim Crow reparations, lynching reparations, and more.
The only way to stop this nonsense is to flat out say that American blacks are better off today because of slavery. That's a true statement. The technical arguments (no one alive today was a slave, how do we know which blacks are descended from slaves and which ones aren't, some blacks also owned slaves,,,) are sensible arguments and should be used as supporting material, but the main argument should be, quite simply, that American blacks are beneficiaries of slavery and thus no reparations are necessary or deserved. That's hard for people to say in the current PC climate, but it's the truth, and without that argument we'll ultimately lose on this issue.
Reparations is the road to civil war.
Hot lead is the only currency that I will pay out for slave reparations. Need healing? Go jump in the lake.
Want an apology? Go to the african tribes who are still there including Obama’s ancestral tribe who sold your ancestors into slavery. Next go to the democrat party of the U.S. and take every penny they own. They are the party of slavery, the KKK and all of the other things that minorities bitch about.
My ancestors fought to free your ancestors and some paid in blood. You owe me a big thank you and an apology for accusing me of racism.
